Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled MS Dynamics Finance and Operations (F&O) / AX Consultant with 5-10 years of comprehensive experience to join our implementation team in Gurgaon. This role offers a flexible hybrid work model and requires immediate to short-notice availability.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and functional expertise in D365 F&O modules, with proven experience in end-to-end implementations. You will be responsible for leading complex projects, mentoring team members, and delivering innovative solutions that drive business transformation for our enterprise clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesImplementation & Configuration

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations / AX projects from requirements gathering to post-go-live support
  • Configure and customize core modules including Finance, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Project Operations, Commerce, and Asset Management
  • Design and implement business processes aligned with industry best practices and client requirements
  • Conduct comprehensive gap analysis between business requirements and standard D365 F&O functionality
  • Provide solution recommendations and architectural guidance for complex business scenarios
  • Create and maintain detailed functional design documents (FDD), business process documents (BPD), and configuration guides

Technical Development

  • Develop customizations using X++ programming language in Visual Studio environment
  • Create and modify forms, reports (SSRS), batch jobs, classes, and data entities
  • Develop integrations using Data Management Framework (DMF), OData services, REST APIs, and Azure Logic Apps
  • Build custom workflows, business events, and event handlers to automate business processes
  • Implement Electronic Reporting (ER) configurations for financial and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Develop and extend Data Entities for integrations, data migration, and reporting purposes
  • Implement Custom Services and Service Operations for external system integrations
  • Optimize code performance and follow Microsoft coding standards and best practices

Module-Specific ExpertiseFinance Module

  • Configure General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management
  • Implement financial dimensions, advanced financial structures, and chart of accounts
  • Configure budget controls, budget planning, and forecasting
  • Set up tax engines, GST/VAT compliance, TDS/TCS, and localization requirements
  • Configure financial reporting structures, consolidations, and eliminations
  • Implement credit and collections, payment processing, and bank reconciliation

Supply Chain Management

  • Configure Inventory Management, Procurement, Sales Order Processing, Warehouse Management
  • Implement Master Planning (MRP/MPS), Production Control, and Manufacturing execution
  • Set up Quality Management, Product Information Management (PIM), and Engineering Change Management
  • Configure Trade and Logistics functionalities including shipping, receiving, and transportation management
  • Implement advanced warehouse operations and mobile device configurations

Additional Modules (As Applicable)

  • Project Operations: Project management, time and expense, project accounting, and resource scheduling
  • Retail/Commerce: Point of Sale (POS), e-commerce integration, omnichannel commerce
  • Asset Management: Maintenance planning, work orders, and asset lifecycle management
  • Human Resources: (if applicable) Personnel management, payroll integration

Data Migration & Integration

  • Design and execute comprehensive data migration strategies using DMF, DIXF, and custom migration tools
  • Develop integrations with external systems including CRM, WMS, EDI, e-commerce platforms, and legacy systems
  • Implement Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, and Azure Service Bus for process automation and integration
  • Ensure data validation, cleansing, transformation, and quality control during migration processes
  • Create recurring data integration jobs using Data Entities and monitor execution
  • Develop custom data packages and templates for efficient data management

System Administration & Optimization

  • Perform system configuration, environment management, and Lifecycle Services (LCS) administration
  • Optimize system performance through code review, database tuning, and batch job optimization
  • Troubleshoot complex issues using trace parser, query optimization, and performance monitoring tools
  • Implement patches, hotfixes, and platform updates following Microsoft release schedules
  • Configure security roles, privileges, duties, and segregation of duties (SoD) compliance
  • Set up number sequences, batch processing frameworks, and system parameters
  • Monitor system health using Application Insights, LCS monitoring tools, and SQL diagnostics

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts for all customizations and configurations
  • Create and maintain Task Recorder scripts for training, documentation, and regression testing
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Conduct regression testing after platform updates, hotfixes, and major releases
  • Support UAT activities and coordinate defect resolution with development team
  • Implement Regression Suite Automation Tool (RSAT) for automated testing

Training & Support

  • Conduct comprehensive end-user training sessions and train-the-trainer programs
  • Create detailed training materials, user manuals, process documentation, and quick reference guides
  • Provide post-go-live hypercare support and resolve production issues promptly
  • Offer Level 2/3 support for complex business and technical issues
  • Create and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor junior consultants, developers, and offshore team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, solution architects, and project managers
  • Participate in client workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and design discussions
  • Contribute to pre-sales activities, RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations, and effort estimations
  • Stay current with D365 F&O updates, new features, roadmap, and Microsoft technology stack
  • Drive best practices adoption and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills (Mandatory)

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O / AX (AX 2009, AX 2012 R3, or D365 F&O)
  • Strong proficiency in X++ programming, MorphX framework, and Visual Studio development for D365
  • Extensive experience with SSRS report development, ER framework, and Power BI integration
  • Expertise in Data Management Framework (DMF), Data Entities, OData services, and REST APIs
  • Thorough knowledge of Azure DevOps, Lifecycle Services (LCS), version control, and build automation
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server, T-SQL, database optimization, and query performance tuning
  • Experience with Power Platform integration (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of Azure services including Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, and Key Vault
  • Understanding of Web Services, WCF, and integration patterns

Functional Knowledge (Core Requirement)

  • Deep functional knowledge of at least 2-3 core modules from: Finance, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Project Operations, or Commerce
  • Proven experience in 3+ full lifecycle implementations of D365 F&O / AX projects
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, GAAP, IFRS, and accounting standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain processes: procurement-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory management
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations: discrete, process, lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements: GST, VAT, tax reporting, statutory reporting, and audit trails
  • Familiarity with industry-specific solutions for Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Professional Services, or Food & Beverage
  • Understanding of master data management, organizational hierarchies, and legal entity structures

Project & Business Skills

  • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with C-level executives and business stakeholders
  • Experience in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and solution design workshops
  • Ability to create comprehensive documentation including FDD, TDD, and test plans
  • Strong time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Client-facing experience with proven stakeholder management and consulting capabilities
  • Experience managing offshore/onshore distributed teams

Certifications (Highly Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310)
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate (MB-330)
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate (MB-500)
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (MB-700)
  • Legacy certifications: MB-300, MB-6898, or equivalent AX certifications
  • Additional Azure or Power Platform certifications will be an advantage

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (mandatory)
  • Master's degree (MBA, M.Com, MCA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CIMA, CMA highly valued for Finance module specialists
  • APICS, CSCP, or similar supply chain certifications advantageous for SCM specialists
