Role Purpose
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for defining and executing the enterprise-wide technology vision, digital transformation strategy, and product innovation roadmap for an integrated
healthcare, pharma retail, and distribution ecosystem
spanning
B2B, B2C, and omni-channel operations
.The role will drive scalable digital platforms, smart factory and warehouse initiatives, AI/ML-led insights, and technology-enabled operational excellence while ensuring compliance with healthcare, data security, and regulatory standards.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Governance
- Define, own, and execute the long-term technology and digital roadmap aligned with business growth, profitability, and scalability objectives.
- Establish robust technology governance frameworks, policies, and standards in line with ISO, ITIL, and industry best practices.
- Present technology strategy, investments, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership and the Board.
- Digital Transformation & Platforms
- Lead end-to-end digital transformation across e-pharmacy, retail stores, distribution, and supply chain operations.
- Oversee implementation and optimization of ERP, WMS, OMS, CRM, POS, loyalty platforms, and integration middleware.
- Own architecture and delivery of enterprise digital products including:
- Web and e-commerce platforms
- Mobile applications (customer, partner, and internal)
- CRM, analytics, and reporting platforms
- Marketplace and third-party integrations
- Smart Factory & Smart Warehouse (Industry 4.0)
- Implement Industry 4.0 / IIoT / automation initiatives across manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse operations.
- Deploy AI/ML-driven solutions to improve:
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- First Time Right (FTR)
- Inventory accuracy and demand forecasting
- Fulfilment SLAs and logistics efficiency
- Data, Analytics & AI
- Define and execute the enterprise data strategy, including data architecture, governance, quality, and security.
- Enable advanced analytics and dashboards for sales, inventory, pricing, customer insights, and supply chain performance.
- Drive adoption of AI/ML use cases for personalization, forecasting, fraud detection, and operational optimization.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build, scale, and lead high-performing onshore and offshore technology, data, infrastructure, and product teams.
- Establish delivery governance, KPIs, agile practices, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
- Mentor senior leaders and create a strong succession pipeline within technology functions.
- Information Security, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with healthcare/pharma regulations, IT laws, and data privacy standards.
- Own information security, cybersecurity, and data protection frameworks aligned with ISO 27001 / ISO 27701.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technology, data, and operational risks.
- Vendor & Cost Management
- Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors, SaaS platforms, system integrators, and cloud partners.
- Optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ensure measurable ROI on all technology investments.
- Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and performance benchmarks.
- Business Partnership & Innovation
- Partner with business, operations, finance, marketing, and supply chain leaders to co-create tech-enabled products, services, and new revenue streams.
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and rapid time-to-market.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering / computer science / technology (mandatory).
- Masters degree in Technology / Management (MBA / M.Tech) preferred.
- 15 25 years of total experience, with8 10+ years in senior technology leadership roles (CTO / Head of Technology / VP Engineering).
- Proven experience in healthcare, pharma, FMCG, consumer electronics, or omni-channel retail environments.
