Principal Engineer – CPQ Transformation
, you will drive the architectural design and end-to-end technical delivery of scalable, high-performance CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) solutions using .NET and/or Java technologies. Your mission is to lead the modernization and integration of CPQ capabilities within the enterprise ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business goals, technology standards, and future scalability. You will guide development teams, define robust technical solutions, and leverage modern architectural patterns—including microservices, API-led integration, and cloud-native design—while ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.You will play a pivotal role in transforming legacy CPQ environments into intelligent, modular platforms by incorporating industry standards (e.g., TMF, SID) and emerging technologies like

for intelligent configuration, pricing optimization, and automated solutioning. Your leadership will ensure high-quality technical delivery, seamless stakeholder collaboration, and continuous innovation across the CPQ transformation journey
Activities And Responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture, design, and implementation of CPQ transformation initiatives using .NET and/or Java-based technology stacks.
- Define end-to-end solution architecture aligned with business needs, focusing on modularity, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, product owners, BAs, and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive the modernization of legacy CPQ platforms, adopting microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven patterns.
- Oversee integration of CPQ with surrounding systems (CRM, ERP, Billing, Product Catalogue, Pricing Engines) to ensure a seamless and extensible ecosystem.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional development teams through all phases of the SDLC, ensuring quality, agility, and consistency.
- Ensure alignment with TMF standards (e.g., SID, TAM, eTOM) for service modeling, lifecycle, and interoperability.
- Leverage Agentic AI to enable autonomous and intelligent behaviors within the CPQ process—such as adaptive configuration paths, dynamic workflow orchestration, and smart dependency resolution.
- Integrate Agentic AI agents to monitor user behavior, recommend next-best actions, and proactively optimize product configurations and pricing strategies.
- Explore and apply Generative AI capabilities to automate technical documentation, code generation, test case creation, and personalized proposal generation.
- Conduct feasibility analysis and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to validate use cases for AI integration within CPQ and product modeling.
- Define and govern non-functional requirements (NFRs) including performance, security, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Promote DevOps practices including CI/CD automation, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
- Drive technical governance through code reviews, architecture reviews, and risk assessments.
- Contribute to the CPQ technology roadmap, identifying opportunities to embed AI-first design principles and emerging technologies.
- Ensure secure design principles and compliance with internal and external data governance and privacy standards.
- Provide Principal Engineerership and thought partnership in organizational AI readiness and capability development.
About You
Technical Expertise
- CPQ Platforms: In-depth experience with CPQ implementations (custom or platform-based like Salesforce CPQ, Oracle CPQ, or Apttus), including configuration logic, pricing strategies, quote workflows, and integrations.
- Architecture & Design: Strong expertise in designing enterprise-grade solutions using microservices, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design principles.
- Programming Languages: Proficient in .NET (C#) and Java, with deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and multithreaded architecture.
- Integration Technologies: Expertise in RESTful APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, Webhooks, and middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Apache Camel, Azure Integration Services).
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience with cloud-native development (Azure, AWS, or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep).
- Database & Data Modeling: Proficient in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases; experienced in modeling complex product catalog and configuration rules.
- TM Forum Standards: Familiarity with TMF SID, TAM, and eTOM frameworks for product/service modeling and lifecycle alignment.
- Agentic AI: Working knowledge of Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain Agents, Hugging Face Transformers + Agents) to implement autonomous and goal-driven agents within the CPQ process (e.g., auto-configuration agents, approval path optimizers).
- Generative AI: Experience in applying Generative AI (Gen AI) for:
- Automated documentation and proposal generation
- AI-assisted code scaffolding and refactoring
- Toolsets & Frameworks: Familiar with tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, and Git.
- Security & Compliance: Knowledge of secure coding practices, API security (OAuth2, JWT), data protection, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR)
