Manager – Operations & OptimizationWork you’ll doKey Role Description:Manager will lead a vertical of Deputy Managers and Assistant Managers, serving as the strategic and operational lead for a suite of data sharing applications. Manager will drive mastery in specialized domains, act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and champion innovation, process optimization, and team development. This role demands strong leadership, independent decision-making, and the ability to translate complex strategies into actionable plans.Functional Expertise:
- Demonstrate comprehensive expertise in client, vendor, personnel, entity, and opportunity data, leveraging deep understanding to address business challenges and identify strategic opportunities.
- Collect, document, and analyze complex client requirements; provide expert user support, bridge client expectations with operational execution, and deliver tailored solutions to enhance user experience.
- Lead and manage a high-performing team supporting member firms in organizing, categorizing, and maintaining information within Deloitte systems; promote best practices, standardized processes, and knowledge sharing to drive efficiency and alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement by motivating team leads and members to identify and implement enhancements in practices and processes, fostering a culture of proactive problem-solving.
- Translate group strategy into actionable steps at the team level, ensuring alignment with firm-wide goals and objectives.
- Oversee data profiling and quality management efforts, including data cleansing, error detection, and validation to ensure trusted, accurate client and entity data.
- Design and manage end-to-end data updating and integration techniques, validating and enhancing client master data by sourcing, evaluating, and integrating additional information.
- Apply advanced Client Data Integration (CDI) methodologies to match, merge, and link data from multiple sources, maintaining robust internal and external data connections.
- Implement client segmentation strategies to classify and organize clients, improve industry classification, and support market refresh initiatives.
- Utilize expert knowledge of internal and external platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, Informatica, D&B Hoovers, Compustat, EDGAR) to optimize data management and integration.
- Employ advanced data architecture concepts, including Change Data Capture (CDC), dimensional hierarchy maintenance, and multi-dimensional data modeling across time horizons.
- Apply Business Process Improvement (BPI) methodologies (e.g., V-Model, DMAIC, Six-Sigma, Agile, Lean) to optimize workflow utilization, throughput, and quality.
- Enhance and automate complex data management, research, and workflow methodologies for greater efficiency and impact.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple domains, providing guidance, innovative solutions, and expertise for intricate queries.
- Collaborate on master data governance and quality with functional data owners, ensuring integrity and consistency across systems and adherence to business rules.
- Develop and implement master data governance strategies, processes, and operations, applying leading practices in data modeling, lineage, analytics, and metadata management.

- Establish and refine sub-processes to drive ongoing process improvement and operational excellence.
- Exhibit strong business acumen, communicate effectively across organizational levels and cultures, and consistently achieve organizational objectives.
- Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate external data into centralized repositories, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading workflows.
Project Management:
- Analyze a wide range of business risks, recommend effective resolutions, and proactively seek opportunities to improve team portfolios and processes.
- Serve as Project Manager and functional process lead, overseeing large engagements and multiple smaller processes simultaneously; plan delivery, assess risks, and ensure timely execution.
- Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end projects, providing expert advice on integration, documentation, and implementation of complex solutions.
- Manage and monitor business SLAs, project timelines, and conduct regular audits to ensure process quality and compliance.
- Establish and refine new processes to address ambiguity, streamline implementation, and drive process improvements within specific domains.
- Guide and mentor Assistant Managers and Deputy Managers in metrics analysis, recommending enhancements to product roadmaps and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, partnering to define and design next-level services and evaluating stakeholder/customer satisfaction to drive efficiencies.
- Drive knowledge sharing, documentation of best practices, and lessons learned across projects to foster continuous improvement.
- Serve as the escalation point for customers and stakeholders, ensuring effective issue resolution and communication.
- Oversee the entire product suite development cycle, providing strategic input to the product roadmap and ensuring interoperability, interdependencies, and cross-application synergies.
- Act as a trusted advisor on technical implementations for business stakeholders, serving as the single point of contact for a suite of technical products and solutions.
- Accountable for the delivery of team KPIs and ongoing process optimization.
Performance, Talent Management & Stakeholder Management:
- Conduct regular and timely counseling sessions and performance assessments for team members.
- Establish clear business processes to eliminate ambiguity and streamline implementation.
- Engage team members to drive innovation and cognitive processes
- Lead master data management projects by defining project requirements, scope, and implementation plans.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships to manage expectations and enhance the value and depth of service.
- Anticipate client needs and provide tailored solutions.

- Demonstrate deep understanding of Deloitte’s businesses, industries and trends in business domain.
- Work with senior leaders in business and resource planning, recruiting strategy, process development and implementation, broader team wide change management projects / initiatives
- Demonstrate strong understanding of firm policies and risk management elements
- Demonstrate understanding of evolution of knowledge sharing processes, including history and current trends in the professional services space. Also, keep track of general technology/automation advancements, with an outlook to implement within the technology spectrum
Learning and Development & Documentation:
- Acquire expertise in all relevant business areas and establish oneself as the Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Crosstrain both existing and new team members on intricate data management, research, and workflow methodologies.
- Proactively enhance supplemental skills related to research and workflow methodologies through resources like e-room, publications, etc.
- Oversee end-to-end processes, collaborating closely with key stakeholders and promptly addressing data inquiries.
- Identify and document instances where processes yield unexpected results. Take ownership of creating and maintaining comprehensive process documentation and training materials.
- Recognize and document quality assurance (QA) processes, including research and documentation of complex data change requests.

- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in specialized domains, acting as the primary resource for complex queries, innovative solutions, and guidance.
- Mentor, coach, and cross-train team members on advanced data management, research, and workflow methodologies; proactively identify training needs and conduct training sessions.
- Continuously upskill through self-learning using digital platforms, publications, and industry resources to stay current with best practices.
- Oversee end-to-end data management and workflow processes, collaborating with stakeholders, responding to data inquiries, and ensuring timely, accurate delivery.
- Create, maintain, and standardize process documentation, training materials, and business presentations, document unexpected process outcomes and QA activities.
- Drive process optimization by analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing clear, efficient procedures; automate and enhance research and workflow methodologies for increased efficiency.
- Make independent decisions, demonstrate executive presence, and exercise sound judgment in handling complex issues and processes.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, best practice sharing, and continuous improvement; encourage identification of opportunities to elevate service standards.
- Align team activities with strategic business priorities, breaking down complex strategies into actionable tasks and ensuring shared understanding of process roadmaps.

- Guide Assistant Managers and Deputy Managers in metrics analysis, supporting global program efficacy and the development of quantitative and qualitative metrics for process optimization.
- Lead change management efforts, providing guidance during periods of ambiguity and supporting strategic business objectives through robust data management practices.
- Enforce governance standards using playbooks and ongoing engagement with member firm SMEs to develop new services and quality standards.
- Maintain expertise in master data domains (Material, Vendor, Customer, Employee, Custom masters), and oversee ongoing data cleansing, validation, and profiling.

Technology or Other Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in performing extensive data analysis (comparing multiple datasets).
- Advanced knowledge and 10+ years of relevant experience in MS Office Suite including MS Excel, Word, and MS Access, Visio etc.
- Advanced knowledge and 6+ years of hands-on relevant experience on SQL, including writing and modifying queries. Well versed with SQL server.
- 8+ years on any of the below given platforms:
- Informatica 360 MDM platform
- Salesforce Platform
- SAP S4
- Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Intermediate knowledge on SQL.
Education Requirement:Master’s degree in computer information, and Business Administration or related field; minimum of 11-14 years of relevant work experience.
