Deputy General Manager (TAG GCE)The Asia Group (“TAG”) is now accepting applications for a driven Deputy General Manager to join the leadership of our Global Center of Excellence in Gurgaon (“TAG GCE”). The Deputy General Manager of the GCE will work closely with the General Manager of TAG GCE who recently relocated to Gurgaon from Washington and require regular engagement with firm leadership in Washington DC and TAG regional management teams across Asia to drive forward the development and integration of the GCE. The Deputy General Manager role is offered as a full-time position on site.

TAG GCE staff will work closely with TAG’s HQ, regional management, and global client servicing teams to support existing operational and client servicing initiatives as well as to identify and build new capabilities.The Deputy General Manager will play a pivotal role in scaling TAG GCE in Gurgaon. Working closely with TAG GCE’s General Manager, the Deputy will help build out the core team, develop operational processes and procedures, and manage performance of TAG GCE staff. As TAG GCE grows and matures, the Deputy will take on increasing responsibility for its leadership and strategic direction.
Responsibilities
- Entity Setup & Launch: Support the General Manager in establishing the TAG GCE entity, overseeing infrastructure setup, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. This will include developing and executing operational plans to launch and scale TAG GCE successfully.
- Talent Acquisition & Team Building: In close coordination and support from TAG’s global Recruiting Coordinator, lead recruitment efforts to build a high-performing, diverse team that aligns with TAG’s values and business objectives. Design and implement onboarding, training, and professional development programs in close coordination with firm leadership to ensure new hires are equipped for success.
- Operational Excellence: Develop, document, and continuously improve an online library of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows for all core functions housed in TAG GCE. Implement performance management systems, KPIs, and governance frameworks to enhance efficiency and accountability.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with HQ leadership, local partners, and internal/external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for TAG GCE initiatives. Represent TAG GCE in executive meetings, workshops, and client engagements as needed.
- Change Management & Process Optimization: Champion process automation, continuous improvement, and change management initiatives to boost productivity and compliance. Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges, driving innovation and best practices across the center.
- Leadership Development: Take on progressively greater responsibility for guiding TAG GCE’s strategic direction, mentoring future leaders, and ensuring a robust succession pipeline as the center evolves.
- Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives: Lead or support special projects as required by HQ or evolving business needs, adapting quickly to new priorities and opportunities.

- 10+ years' experience in a senior leadership role within a global professional services firm.
- Proven track record setting up and scaling global capability centers, managing P&L, and driving operational excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams responsible for back-office functions (IT, legal, HR, finance, and CRM systems), geopolitical and economic research, and SaaS development and customer service.
- Comfort and experience developing and maintaining cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across a broad range of geographies, cultures, and time zones.
- Experience in process optimization, change management, and governance frameworks.
- Strong attention to detail, including under tight deadlines; excellent project management skills; outstanding research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Master’s degree or equivalent academic/practical experience in business administration, operations, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to travel to HQ or other TAG offices for training or as business dictates.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills will be considered a plus.
