Immediate Joiner Preferred
Experience
4-5 years in Product Management, preferably with SaaS / HR tech / startup exposure.
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Product Manager to lead the development and growth of our HRMS (Human Resource Management System) product. The role involves end-to-end product ownership: from understanding HR workflows, gathering requirements, defining product features, prioritizing backlogs, collaborating with engineering, ensuring delivery, and driving adoption. As a startup, you’ll be expected to be hands-on, adaptable, with strong ownership, and capable of wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and prioritise requirements from HR stakeholders (internal & external) — e.g. recruitment, onboarding, attendance, leave management, payroll, performance reviews, employee self-service, etc.
- Define product roadmap & strategy aligned with business goals, user needs, and market trends.
- Create and maintain detailed product specifications, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Work closely with engineering teams (developers, QA) to ensure timely delivery of features.
- Ensure product quality and usability (UX / UI) and drive continuous improvements via user feedback.
- Define and track relevant metrics (KPIs) like user adoption, engagement, retention, time to hire, process efficiency, etc.
- Perform market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and differentiators.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Support to ensure smooth launch, go-to-market, documentation, training, and adoption.
- Drive product demos, user training sessions, and gather feedback.
- Manage product backlog: prioritization, trade-offs, ensuring capacity vs. business value.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. data privacy, labour laws, statutory requirements in payroll etc.).
- Budgeting & forecasting product costs where applicable.
Skills & Qualifications
- 4-5 years of relevant product management experience, ideally with HRMS / HR software / SaaS products.
- Good understanding of HR processes (recruitment, compensation, performance management, leave & attendance, payroll etc.).
- Strong analytical skills; able to use data to drive decisions.
- Good UX sense; ability to convert user needs into intuitive product flows and UI.
- Excellent communication skills — with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders (HR people, customers).
- Agile / Scrum experience — familiarity with agile methodologies.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to HR (payroll laws, labour laws, data protection) is a plus.
- Experience with tools like Jira / Trello / Asana, product design tools (Figma, Sketch), data tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel etc.).
What We Are Looking For in You (Soft Skills)
- Strong problem-solver, proactive and self-driven.
- Empathetic to user pain points; ability to listen, question assumptions.
- Good prioritization & decision-making under constraints.
- Collaborative — working across teams; open to feedback.
- Ability to adapt to changes (business priorities, product pivots etc.).
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- Feature releases delivered on time & meeting quality expectations.
- Increased adoption of HRMS modules by customers / internal users.
- Improvement in key metrics: e.g. reduced time to complete HR tasks, improved user satisfaction.
- Positive feedback from HR stakeholders, reduced support tickets / issues.
- Clear, scalable product workflows and documentation.
