Job Overview

Head of Human Resources


Key Responsibilities


Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support the organization’s goals, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention.
  • Partner with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with business priorities and drive organizational change.

Talent Acquisition and Management

  • Oversee recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent across all levels.
  • Implement effective onboarding, training, and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.

Employee Engagement and Culture

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work culture that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee morale.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Develop and manage competitive compensation structures, benefits programs, and performance-based incentives.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, such as Provident Fund, ESIC, and gratuity, as per Indian labour laws.

Compliance and Policy Development

  • Ensure adherence to Indian labour laws, including the Factories Act, Shops and Establishments Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Develop and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to maintain compliance and clarity.

Performance Management

  • Design and implement performance management systems (KPI’s, KRA’s,) including goal setting, appraisals, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance improvement and employee development.

Employee Relations

  • Address employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary issues promptly and fairly.
  • Promote open communication channels to maintain positive employee relations.

HR Analytics and Reporting

  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives and provide data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Prepare and present reports on HR activities, such as attrition rates, recruitment metrics, and training outcomes.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering professional development and collaboration.
  • Oversee HR operations, including payroll, HRIS management, and administrative functions.


Qualifications

  • Education

    : Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications like SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or CHRM are preferred.
  • Experience

    :
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing HR functions for a mid-to-large organization in India.
  • Technical Skills

    :
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday) and MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and statutory compliance processes.
  • Soft Skills

    :
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.


Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel within India as needed.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Hindi and Marathi languages is an advantage.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing HR for diverse industries, such as manufacturing, IT, or FMCG, in India.
  • Knowledge of global HR trends and their application in the Indian context.
