The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of
Oppam.me, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and timely reporting. This role
will support strategic decision-making by producing forecasts, budgets, financial
analyses, and maintaining financial health. Given Oppam’s nature (online therapy,
subscription/corporate/campus wellness, content, app/web/ERP), the Finance Manager
will also liaise with operations, growth, tech, and legal to ensure integrated financial
management
• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions: ledger entries, accounts payable,
accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, expense reimbursements and vendor
payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper reconciliation (bank, payment
gateways, app stores, etc.).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet,
Cash Flow).
• Generate management reports / dashboards that provide insights into financial
performance, variances vs budgets/forecast, cost centers (therapy sessions,
content, operations, marketing, etc.).
• Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with department heads
(Operations, Marketing, Academy, Growth, Tech).
• Prepare rolling forecasts; update forecasts based on actuals, changing business
conditions (e.g. fluctuation in session volumes, therapist payouts, etc.).
• Monitor budget vs actual spending; provide variance analysis and propose
corrective measures.
• Model scenarios (e.g. different growth or pricing strategies) to guide
decision-making
• Manage and forecast cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations (therapist
payouts, payments to vendors, payroll, platform / infrastructure costs).
• Monitor receivables / payables cycles; ensure collections and vendor payments are
timely.
• Oversight of payment gateway reconciliations, refunds / cancellations / package
expiry etc.
• Support implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of ERP / Financial
software (if applicable) so that financial operations are automated, efficient,
auditable.
• Ensure that transactional data from app, web, subscription / corporate / campus
services are integrated properly with finance systems.
• Improve / build financial processes / controls via ERP: purchase orders, expense
approvals, invoice workflows, etc.
• Analyze pricing / package structure (individual therapy, couples, corporate wellness,
subscription, campaigns) for profitability.
• Monitor revenue recognition patterns, adherence to policies (e.g. pre-payments,
refunds).
• Analyze cost drivers (therapist costs, platform / tech costs, marketing spend,
content production, overheads) and recommend cost optimization.
• Ensure compliance with local laws / regulations: GST, income tax, TDS, payroll taxes,
etc.
• Prepare and file statutory financial returns / regulatory submissions.
• Liaise with external auditors; facilitate audits; respond to auditor queries.
• Maintain internal controls to prevent misuse, fraud, and ensure transparency.
• Establish or refine financial policies and procedures (expense policies, authorization
levels, vendor payment terms, reimbursements, etc.).
• Ensure adherence to authorization / approval workflows.
• Monitor and enforce internal control framework; conduct periodic checks / audits
internally.
• Provide financial insights / analysis to senior management to support strategy
(growth, expansion into new service verticals, app features, tech investments, etc.).
• Participate in setting financial targets, pricing, cost vs benefit analysis of new
initiatives.
• Support business cases / investment proposals for new programs (e.g. increasing
therapist base, wellness packages, technology enhancements).
• Lead and mentor the senior accountant and others to ensure their professional
growth and strong performance.
• Ensure capacity building, training, process documentation, and knowledge sharing to
enhance the team's skills and overall efficiency.
• Identify financial risks (currency, payment gateway chargebacks, default by clients
/corporates, delays in payments, regulatory changes).
• Propose mitigation strategies.
• Maintain reserves / safety buffers where needed.
