Job Description

Reporting Structure

This role typically reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cost Management and Audit Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in cost management controls, leading business turnarounds, identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving operational efficiency, analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization, and ensure robust internal controls, managing audits, like IT audits and GST audits and updated info on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in cost management and auditing..

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead the company-wide budgeting and financial forecasting process.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop operational budgets and track performance against forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance, investigate budget variances, and report on them to management.

Internal Controls and Risk Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
  • Evaluate and manage financial risks, such as those related to supply chain or foreign currency fluctuations.

Operational and Strategic Support

  • Provide financial analysis and guidance to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
  • Support business operations by identifying areas for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
  • Manage banking relationships, cash management, and other treasury-related activities.
  • Assist in due diligence for any potential mergers, acquisitions, or special projects.

Audit and Compliance

  • Manage all interactions and information requests with external auditors.
  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax filing requirements.

Manufacturing and Cost Accounting

  • Oversee all cost accounting activities, including tracking and analyzing manufacturing costs, inventory, and labor expenses.
  • Manage and control the flow of raw materials and oversee inventory valuation and perpetual inventory records.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KRAs) related to manufacturing costs and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies for profit optimization specific to manufacturing processes.

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Direct all accounting operations, including the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Lead and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and publish accurate, timely, and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, which may include staff responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable.


Required Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Professional qualifications such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3–5 years in a financial controller or senior-level accounting role.
  • Proven experience in the manufacturing sector, with strong knowledge of cost and inventory accounting.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in ERP systems (SAP) and other accounting software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance reporting.

Tax Compliance Skills

  • Should have handled Income Tax Audit & GST audit

  • Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining ethical standards.
