Shared Service Centre People & Culture Lead – India


JD: Position Objective


The Shared Service Centre People and Culture Lead aims to drive organizational success by providing expertise, strategic support, and operational execution of HR activities. The Shared Service Centre People and Culture Lead will be responsible for ensuring the full spectrum of people practice aligns with both global standards and local regulations and will play a crucial role in building a positive organizational culture and driving employee engagement.


Key Responsibilities


ACCOUNTABILITY ACTIVITIES


Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth and consistent processes for employee engagement, performance management, and exit procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures in align with both local and global standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters within the Shared Services Centre (SSC), addressing queries, concerns, and providing guidance as needed.
  • Ensure a seamless transition for employees at all stages of the employee lifecycle, incorporating continuous improvements based on feedback and best practices.


Talent Acquisition & Succession

  • Partner with recruitment teams to identify hiring needs, conduct job analysis, and create detailed job descriptions and person specifications.
  • Support recruitment and selection activity, ensuring a timely and efficient hiring process.
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates to meet future recruitment demands.


Culture and Engagement

  • Cultivate and reinforce a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture that reflects the company’s core values, mission, and vision.
  • Manage recognition initiatives that highlight outstanding performance and contributions, creating a culture of appreciation and recognition through regular reward programs, team-building events, and internal awards.
  • Develop and implement site plans when required in collaboration with managers to reduce attrition, absenteeism, improve performance and increase retention


Compliance & Payroll

  • Ensure strict adherence to Indian labour laws and company policies, proactively managing risks associated with non-compliance.
  • Work closely with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries, incentives, and benefits, while addressing any discrepancies swiftly.
  • Manage statutory compliance requirements such as Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity, and other relevant laws.


Performance Management & Development

  • Drive the performance appraisal cycle, promoting a culture of continuous feedback, accountability, and high performance.
  • Partner with managers to identify training and development needs and provide tailored programs that drive employee growth and business performance.
  • Partner with managers to address performance and capability concerns ensuring a fair process and considerate outcome.


HR Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain comprehensive HR dashboards, tracking key trends and metrics, including employee engagement, turnover, performance, and recruitment.
  • Generate actionable reports that support manager in making informed, data-driven decisions related to workforce planning, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Utilise HR analytics tools to identify patterns and trends within the workforce, offering insights that inform both tactical and strategic HR interventions.


Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with global HR teams to ensure consistency in HR practices across regions, while tailoring approaches to meet local needs and requirements.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to support business objectives by aligning HR strategies with organizational goals, culture, and operational requirements
  • Provide consultation and support to business leaders in addressing HR challenges, workforce needs, and performance improvement initiatives.


Employee Relations

  • Partner with leadership teams to ensure smooth transitions during periods of organisational change.
  • Act as a mediator in resolving employee concerns or disputes, conducting investigations when necessary to ensure fair and equitable resolutions.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Master’s degree, or equivalent, in HR Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Significant generalist experience, and experienced leader, ideally from within a shared service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and compliance requirements.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ideally within staffing and payroll industry
  • Proven track record of driving HR initiatives and improving employee experience.
