Job Summary

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial planning, cash flow management, and investor reporting for our rapidly expanding fashion e-commerce business. The ideal candidate will bring both analytical strength and operational understanding, managing everything from daily accounting to strategic financial modelling. You’ll play a crucial role in helping the founders make informed decisions, maintain profitability, and prepare for future growth and funding rounds.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Business Strategy

• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts aligned with sales, marketing, and inventory plans.
• Conduct SKU-level profitability analysis to support pricing and discount strategies.
• Partner with leadership to prepare budgets, revenue projections, and cost analyses.
• Provide financial insights for new product launches, marketing campaigns, and expansion initiatives.

2. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage daily cash flow, vendor payments, and collections across online and offline channels.
• Forecast short- and long-term cash needs; optimize working capital for inventory, logistics, and operations.
• Handle banking operations, reconciliations, and payment gateway settlements.
• Liaise with financial institutions for credit lines and working capital facilities.

3. Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Prepare financial statements, pitch decks, and business performance summaries for investors.
• Support fundraising efforts, investor due diligence, and audit processes.
• Manage monthly MIS and investor reports, ensuring financial transparency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with founders on valuation, forecasting, and investor communications.

4. Financial Control & Compliance

• Oversee accounting accuracy, inventory valuation, and expense tracking.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and ROC filings.
• Coordinate with external auditors for statutory and financial audits.
• Establish strong internal controls and cost monitoring processes.

5. Budgeting & Expense Optimization

• Prepare annual and departmental budgets with variance analysis and recommendations.
• Monitor marketing spend ROI, logistics costs, and operational overheads.
• Identify areas for cost reduction and profitability improvement.
• Partner with the marketing and operations teams to align spending with business goals.

6. Technology, Analytics & Reporting

• Use accounting and ERP tools such as Tally, Zoho Books, or QuickBooks for end-to-end financial management.
• Build and maintain dashboards tracking sales, profitability, cash flow, and expenses.
• Support automation of reconciliation, reporting, and vendor management processes.
• Prepare reports for e-commerce marketplaces (Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, etc.) and D2C sales channels.

Role Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or MBA (Finance).
• Experience: 2+ years in financial management, accounting, or FP&A, preferably in E-commerce, Retail, or Fashion sectors.
• Prior experience in fashion, apparel, or lifestyle retail (D2C or marketplace).
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and online retail finance.
• Proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and business reporting tools.
• Solid knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Exposure to fundraising, investor relations, and startup financial operations.
• Hands-on experience with marketing analytics, inventory costing, and logistics finance.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
