Job Description

Job Title: Manager / Senior Manager – Finance (EPC Business) Location: Pune Department: Finance & Accounts Reports To: CFO / Head of Finance Industry: Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) ________________________________________ Role Overview: The candidate will be responsible for budgeting, financial planning, project-based financial control, cash flow management, and ensuring adherence to commercial agreements. This role is critical in enabling efficient project execution while ensuring profitability and financial compliance. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Budgeting & WBS (Work Breakdown Structure): o Develop, implement, and monitor project budgets aligned with contractual and execution milestones. o Define and maintain WBS structures for financial tracking and reporting. o Work closely with project and commercial teams for accurate budget forecasting and control. 2. Payments & Reconciliation: o Ensure timely processing of vendor payments as per contract terms. o Perform reconciliation of vendor accounts, subcontractor accounts, and project ledgers. o Maintain strong audit trails and documentation for all transactions. 3. Collections Tracking: o Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments. o Maintain a collection dashboard and coordinate with clients to reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding). o Escalate and resolve issues that may delay collections. 4. GM (Gross Margin), IRR (Internal Rate of Return) Tracking: o Track and analyze project-wise and overall business GM and IRR. o Identify variances from plan and recommend corrective actions. o Present profitability and return analysis for current and future projects. 5. Financial EPC MIS: o Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial MIS reports. o Analyze variances and prepare commentary on financial performance. o Support decision-making with timely and accurate data. 6. Working Capital & Cash Flow Management: o Manage cash flow planning and liquidity for ongoing and upcoming projects. o Optimize working capital by managing payables, receivables, and inventory. o Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for fund requirements. ________________________________________ Qualifications & Experience: • CA / MBA Finance / ICWA with 6-8 years of relevant experience in an EPC or project-based industry. • Strong understanding of project accounting, financial modelling, and cost control mechanisms. • Experience in handling large-scale project financials (preferably in the ₹500+ crore range). • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred) and advanced Excel. ________________________________________ Key Skills: • Project finance and control • Strong analytical and communication skills • Stakeholder management • Risk identification and mitigation • Contract and commercial understanding • Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration ________________________________________ Preferred Industry Experience: • EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) • Infrastructure / Construction • Power / Oil & Gas / Heavy Engineering Projects Show more Show less
