Job Title: Head – Information Technology (IT)

Job Purpose:
The IT Head will be responsible for the overall management, planning, implementation, and maintenance of all technology systems and infrastructure across the organization. This role requires leadership in aligning IT strategy with business objectives, ensuring robust network operations, ERP enhancement, cybersecurity, and data governance. The position will drive digital transformation, operational efficiency, and information security across all company functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network & Infrastructure Management
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of all IT infrastructure including LAN/WAN, internet connectivity, servers, routers, switches, and other network components.
- Monitor system uptime, bandwidth utilization, and server performance using appropriate network monitoring tools.
- Plan and execute upgrades, patch management, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Oversee installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Ensure data center operations (both on-site and cloud-based) are secure, efficient, and cost-effective.
- Maintain asset inventory, software licensing, and IT equipment lifecycle management.
2. ERP Management, Enhancement & Support
- Lead ERP system strategy, development, and enhancement as per business process requirements.
- Collaborate with functional heads (Production, Sales, Finance, HR, etc.) to map and automate workflows within the ERP.
- Oversee ERP configuration, module integration, database management, and performance optimization.
- Coordinate with ERP vendors for troubleshooting, customization, upgrades, and new module deployment.
- Ensure master data accuracy, version control, and secure access management within the ERP environment.
- Drive ERP training sessions for users and establish documentation and SOPs for standard usage.
3. IT Security, Compliance & Governance
- Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures in line with ISO/ISMS or equivalent standards.
- Implement multi-layered cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Ensure regular data backups, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity mechanisms are in place and tested.
- Monitor compliance with statutory IT regulations, data protection acts, and internal audit requirements.
- Manage user access rights, password protocols, and data encryption policies.
4. IT Governance, Planning & Budgeting
- Formulate and execute IT strategy aligned with organizational goals and digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop annual IT budgets, control expenditures, and track ROI on IT investments.
- Define IT policies, governance frameworks, and documentation standards across all departments.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and cost optimization.
- Establish and monitor IT performance metrics and SLAs across service domains.
5. Functional & Strategic IT Projects
- Lead enterprise-level IT projects covering infrastructure expansion, ERP implementation, cloud migration, and automation.
- Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure timely project delivery, adherence to technical standards, and vendor compliance.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new technology adoption and prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) for management approval.
- Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, and consultants for large-scale IT projects.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the IT team to deliver consistent and proactive technical support.
- Conduct periodic training to upgrade team skills in networking, cybersecurity, ERP handling, and system administration.
- Establish a strong service-oriented culture focused on user satisfaction and operational reliability.
- Evaluate team performance, set measurable goals, and ensure accountability.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / related field.
- Certifications preferred: CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, CISSP, ITIL, PMP (or equivalent).
Experience Required:
- Minimum 10 – 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, ERP management, and cyber security.
- At least 5 years in a leadership or department head role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or in-house ERP), network administration, and security systems.
- Proven record of implementing IT governance frameworks and executing large-scale IT projects.

- Expertise in data management, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
