The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) is responsible for overseeing the entire
accounting function, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and
efficient financial operations. The CAO will play a crucial role in financial reporting,
tax planning, audit management, and system optimization, including SAP
implementation and utilization. The ideal candidate should have extensive
experience in accounting, finance, taxation, and ERP systems (especially
SAP) and should be well-versed in Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), IFRS,
and other regulatory requirements.
3 Principal Accountabilities(Role & responsibilities):
3.1
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss
accounts, and cash flow statements in compliance with Ind AS, IFRS, and Companies Act.
Ensure timely closure of books of accounts, adherence to accounting policies, and
implementation of best practices.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and
completeness.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory filings (GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, etc.), and
statutory reporting requirements.
Liaise with external and internal auditors, ensuring smooth completion of statutory audits,
tax audits, and internal audits.
2. Accounting Operations & Process Optimization
Lead and supervise general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and
reconciliations.
Manage consolidation of financialstatements across multiple entities and business verticals.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, risk management policies, and corporate
governance frameworks.
Identify and implement cost controlstrategiesto optimize financial efficiency.
Improve financial operations by leveraging automation and process optimization in SAP ERP.
3. SAP & ERP Management
Drive SAP ERP implementation, migration, and optimization for financial and accounting
functions.
Work closely with IT and finance teams to enhance SAP FI/CO module performance.
Ensure smooth integration of SAP with taxation, procurement, inventory, and treasury
management. Train accounting teams on SAP functionalities, ensuring smooth adaptation
and usage.
Provide guidance on SAP-based financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
4. Taxation & Compliance
Manage GST compliance, TDS calculations, tax return filings, and assessments.
Oversee direct and indirect tax planning, optimizing tax positions while ensuring
compliance.
Handle litigation and tax disputes with tax authorities and consultants.
Ensure adherence to transfer pricing regulations and international taxation norms, if
applicable.
5. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Supervise cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and banking relationships.
Ensure effective fund management, cash optimization, and investment strategies.
Liaise with financial institutions for loans, credit facilities, and debt structuring.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring professional development.
Collaborate with CFO, auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies for financial
decision-making.
Provide financial insights and strategic recommendationsto executive leadership.
Key Requirements
1. Qualification & Experience Chartered Accountant (CA). 15+ years of experience in
corporate accounting, financial reporting, and taxation. Strong experience in SAP (FI/CO
module), Ind AS, IFRS, and direct/indirect taxation. Experience in manufacturing, energy,
infrastructure, or large corporate setup is preferred.
2. Technical Skills Expertise in SAP ERP (FI/CO Module), accounting software, and financial
analytics. In-depth knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, Income Tax Act, GST, and Companies Act.
Experience in financial consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and MIS reporting. Strong
command over Excel, Power BI, and financial modeling tools.
3. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent leadership and team
management skills. Ability to handle multiple stakeholders, auditors, and regulatory
authorities. Effective communication and presentation skills.
