Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Automotive Design Engineer located in Mumbai. The Automotive Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and engineering firefighting vehicles, utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role includes overseeing the product design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and working closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to develop innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, and oversee manufacturing workflows for building firefighting vehicles (e.g. aerial ladder platforms, crash rescue trucks) and rescue equipment. Coordinate with design/engineering teams and international suppliers (e.g. Bronto, Darley, Palfinger) to ensure process feasibility and integration. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and production metrics. Monitor production quality; conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards. Optimize production line efficiency through Lean methodologies, time–motion studies, layout improvements, inventory control, and bottleneck elimination.
