Gurushala was launched in September 2019, offering a variety of high-quality interactive resources, including online courses on innovative pedagogies, curated digital content aligned to the school curriculum and a networking platform for teachers across India. In 2021, Gurushala initiated its engagement with students through online assessments and a range of online classes for students. The program has aimed to positively impact the learning levels of students by training teachers to integrate technology and innovative group learning pedagogies inside the classroom. While continuing to provide resources, Gurushala is also looking to expand to a new target audience while deepening engagement with the existing target audience.
We are seeking an incumbent to conceptualise, develop, and execute Gurushala’s revenue generation strategy. This is an entrepreneurial role for someone ready to take complete ownership of a new vertical, build the business model, establish sales pipelines, forge partnerships, execute sales and drive expansion. The individual will be responsible for: identifying potential markets and customer segments, developing sales and marketing strategies aligned with Gurushala’s mission, designing and implementing go-to-market plans and leveraging AI and data-driven tools to optimise lead generation, customer engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
The term sales, marketing and packages are solely for educational packages offered by Gurushala to the user. Whoever is being targeted to offer this package.
The role demands a builder’s mindset and comfort with ambiguity. Social enterprises that introduce a sales function often face resistance both internally and externally. The person in this role will need to educate colleagues about ethical, mission‑aligned selling and work with users to show that paying for Gurushala’s services creates direct value. They will be expected to design a revenue model that remains true to Gurushala’s mission-such as a cross‑compensation approach in which paying schools help subsidise services for low‑income schools-and to iterate on this model as new insights emerge. As the initiative grows, the candidate will recruit, train and mentor a dedicated sales and marketing team, establish performance metrics. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in uncharted environments, who can translate Gurushala’s social mission into a compelling commercial proposition, and who sees revenue generation not as a departure from impact but as a way to amplify it.
