Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit, ensuring seamless integration, compliance, and accurate HRMS/payroll data. Drive implementation of HR policies, payroll and statutory compliance, performance management cycles, and compensation reviews while fostering employee engagement and benefits administration. Lead job evaluation, HR digitization, and automation initiatives to enhance process efficiency, data integrity, and strategic decision-making.

  • Integrating accurate employee data across HRMS, payroll, and other platforms (Poornata, ATS, CSOD) while enforcing process and requires continuous monitoring and coordination within stringent timeline

Employee Lifecycle management & Self-Service Portals (Onboarding to Exit)
  • Design, implement, execute and monitor adherence of structured onboarding, buddy systems, manager experience and 30-60-90-day plans.
  • Coordinate with IT, facilities, and business teams to ensure readiness of tools and access for new employees.
  • Leading exit management process including exit interviews, HOTO
  • Handles regular employee query redressals
  • Track and implement actions for timely F&F settlements
  • Provide insights into retention strategies to HRBP.
  • Oversee a team of associates for resolving employee queries related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and systems, ensuring SLA adherence.
  • Establish a multi-channel support model (email, chat, phone) to enhance accessibility and responsiveness.
  • Implement feedback loops and satisfaction metrics to continuously improve employee support services.
  • Escalate complex issues to HRBP and relevant HR functions while ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Monitor seamless interoperability between systems, maintaining data accuracy and integrity across the employee lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with BCOE teams, IT and vendor partners to manage upgrades, and ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  • Customize and implement solutions to meet the diverse needs of a multi-generational, geographically distributed workforce.
  • Monitor proper integration of Employee job data with HRMS and payroll systems
  • proper documentation, policy adherence, and audit readiness of employee database
  • Poornata, ATS, CSOD by maintaining data integrity
HR Policy/Systems/Processes
  • Implementation of Group policies and processes, upholding both compliance and alignment across all Cement HO.
  • Collaborate with BCOE for policies enhancements and proactively identify execution gaps, recommending corrective measures to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Drive implementation through clear and consistent communication of newly introduced policies, systems, and processes to all employees at Cement HO, fostering awareness and adoption.
  • Conduct self-audits of policy and process adherence, resolving discrepancies with support of BCOE for continuous improvement in operational excellence.
  • Define and document the purpose, responsibilities, and reporting relationships of roles within the Cement HO function to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Monitor 100 % compliance of changed reporting relationships in Poornata.
  • Track and monitor 100 % accuracy in position management tool through periodic checks and balances.
Statutory Compliances
  • Interact and monitor compliance statutory requirements, including PF, ESI, gratuity, professional tax, LWF, POSH through accurate deductions and timely filings for Head office business unit (Ahura/Altimus).
Payroll Management (On-roll & off-roll)
  • Manage end-to-end payroll inputs for both permanent and contractual employees, ensuring timely, error-free salary processing and statutory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams to validate payroll budgets, track actuals, and support monthly reconciliation and reporting.
  • Maintain payroll documentation and audit trails, supporting internal and external audits with complete and accurate records.
  • Implement controls for payroll risk mitigation, including maker-checker validations, exception reporting, and escalation mechanisms.
  • Monitor vendor SLAs and service quality for outsourced payroll and compliance partners, ensuring timely issue resolution and adherence to governance protocols.
  • Oversee attendance and leave management processes across Cement HO and ensure accurate data capture and policy adherence for payroll processing
  • Interact with vendor partner for quality assurance and process adherence for maintaining Attendance system at HO ( Ahura/Altimus)
Performance Management Process & Reward Management
  • Communicate and reinforce performance management guidelines, ensuring clarity and consistency across the Cement HO business.
  • Coordinate normalization of performance ratings in collaboration with Function Heads (FHs) and CXOs to ensure consistency and governance of appraisal guidelines
  • Plan and oversee the complete performance cycle, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates of performance review data in HRMS or relevant platforms, while also overseeing error-free processing of variable pay, annual increments, and promotional salary revisions in alignment with policy and timelines
  • Communicate and educate employees on performance management guidelines, monitor annual process.
  • Implement and track Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for underperforming employees, ensuring timely interventions and support.
  • Main SPOC of the annual compensation review process for HO in collaboration with BCOE, ensuring timely execution and alignment with laid out guidelines.
Employee Benefits & Engagement
  • Administer employee insurance programs including Mediclaim, Nishchint, Sunishchit, and GPA, ensuring timely enrollment, renewals, and coverage accuracy.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers to resolve employee queries, claims, and grievances efficiently, ensuring a positive experience and minimal turnaround time.
  • Conduct periodic awareness sessions to educate employees on available benefits, coverage details, and claim procedures.
  • Design and organize holistic wellness programs and employee events covering festivals, sports activities, physical, emotional, and mental health such as health check-ups, fitness challenges, and mindfulness sessions across Mumbai office.
  • Collaborate with Aditya Birla Capital to drive financial literacy and awareness sessions for employees, promoting informed financial well-being and long-term planning across Mumbai office.
  • Plan and execute engagement initiatives such as town halls, cultural events, and team-building activities.
  • Collaborate with BCOEs Team & drive OE initiatives like ABG Values, POSH, Gender diversity, Culture & Gender Sensitivity across Mumbai office.
Job Evaluation
  • Coordinate and interact with Functional Heads on the strategic importance of job evaluation and provide recommendations to HRBP for capability building readiness of VJEC panel members for the job evaluation process.
  • Design, plan and close VJEC process for Cement HO and, work closely with BCOE Rewards team for timely and accurate data submission.
  • Review, update and maintain job descriptions and job evaluation (JE) databases for all the job functions of Cement HO.
  • Track and manage the evaluated job bands for all roles across units, ensuring alignment with organizational structure and compensation norms.
Special Projects
  • Identify inefficiencies in HR workflows; manual and repetitive HR processes suitable for automation (e.g., onboarding workflows, exit formalities, attendance system, communication mailers).
  • Enable HR dashboards and analytics for HR metrics (e.g., headcount, attrition, engagement).
  • Contribute to digital transformation projects aimed at enhancing HR delivery service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pilot and scale new HR initiatives.
  • Monitor adoption and impact of process changes through KPIs and employee feedback.
