Job Description: Safety, Health, Environment & Operations Manager (SHEO Manager)Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety, Health, Environment & Operations (SHEO) Manager to lead safety, environmental, health, and operational excellence initiatives within our organization. The role demands strategic planning, strong leadership, and hands-on execution across safety management, environment compliance, employee health monitoring, operations, administration, project management, and cross-functional coordination.
The SHEO Manager will drive sustainable improvements, ensure regulatory compliance, foster a culture of safety, and build high-performing teams aligned with business excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities1. SafetyDevelop and implement HIRAC, JSA, PSM, Emergency Preparedness Plans, SOPs, and training documentation.
Drive safety culture through near-miss reporting, toolbox talks, PTW, LOTO, safety drills, 5S, and safety campaigns.
Manage audits (internal, external, and legal) and ensure compliance.
Conduct incident analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Lead safety engagement activities (Safety Week, competitions, recognitions).
Monitor safety performance, engineering controls, and cost management.
Foster creativity in safety initiatives (cross-audits, one-day safety officer, rewards & recognition).
2. EnvironmentMonitor and control environmental performance parameters to remain within regulatory norms.
Ensure upkeep, maintenance, and inspection of environmental systems/equipment.
Drive environmental awareness and training programs.
Ensure legal and statutory compliance.
3. HealthImplement health monitoring programs for engineers, associates, and workforce.
4. OperationsPlan and execute shutdown activities ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.
5. Administration & Business ExcellenceManage documentation: Logbooks, MIS, training, audits, materials, and safety records.
Build team capabilities through talent pool development, multiskilling, refresher training, and technical modules.
Lead Six Sigma, FMEA, Lean, QC projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage material & contract handling, cost monitoring, and adherence.
Facilitate audit management (ISO, Safety, Quality, TS, Customer, etc.).
Drive employee engagement, branding, and policy implementation (ethics, diversity, women protection, etc.).
Develop soft skills and leadership qualities across the team (planning, communication, conflict resolution, motivation).
Use digital tools (SAP PM, MS Office, Cloud platforms) for reporting and monitoring.
6. Project ManagementIdentify, prioritize, and execute projects internally or in coordination with project teams.
Manage PRs, SPRs, technical discussions, ordering, fabrication, erection, trials, and handover to operations.
7. CoordinationLiaise with cross-functional stakeholders: DCM, QA/QC, R&D, Purchase, Contracts, Stores, Maintenance, Project Teams, Internal/External customers, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure smooth collaboration with business excellence teams, auditors, finance, taxation, and central services.
Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical/EHS) or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
10+ years of experience in Safety, Environment, and Operations within manufacturing/industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of EHS laws, ISO standards, audits, and compliance requirements.
Proven track record in safety leadership, operations excellence, and project management.
Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt), Lean preferred.
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Proficiency in SAP PM, MS Office Suite, and reporting systems.
