Job Title: Project Engineer – HVACDepartment: Technical – Projects, Design, drafting planning execution, Installation & Commissioning
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose:As a Project Engineer – HVAC , you will be responsible for planning, execution, supervision, and documentation of HVAC projects including VRF/VRV, ductable, package, and chiller systems. The role also includes HVAC system design, drafting, quantity estimation, site coordination, and ensuring timely project delivery with safety and quality standards.
The HVAC Project Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, coordination, and execution of HVAC projects from inception to completion. The role includes technical support, cost estimation, vendor coordination, quality assurance, and site supervision to ensure HVAC systems are delivered on time, within budget, and to required specifications and standards.
You will lead technicians, coordinate with clients, vendors, and management to ensure that all installations meet design specifications, project timelines, and company standards.
Experience Required:3 – 7 Years of experience in HVAC Project, Design, Drafting and Execution
(Preference for candidates with hands-on experience in VRF/VRV, Ductable ,Package Chiller, or Centralized Air Conditioning systems from reputed brands like Voltas, Blue Star, Daikin, or Carrier.)
Key Responsibilities:🔹 Project Planning
& Execution:•Plan, schedule, and execute HVAC projects as per approved design and drawings.
• Supervise site activities including installation, ducting, piping, insulation, wiring, and commissioning.
• Prepare daily work progress reports and coordinate with management and client engineers.
• Verify project measurements, BOQ quantities, and reconcile used vs delivered materials.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
🔹 HVAC Design, Drawing & Drafting:• Prepare and review HVAC layout drawings – including ducting, piping, and equipment layouts.
• Use AutoCAD / Revit or similar software for preparing design and coordination drawings.
• Perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, and equipment selection as per project specifications and standards.
• Select appropriate HVAC equipment to ensure system efficiency, cost optimization, long-term durability, and alignment with customer and site requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and vendors for design approvals, technical clarifications, and drawing revisions.
• Maintain updated as-built drawings, technical documentation, and material BOQs for record and project handover.
• Design HVAC systems including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork, and piping layout using relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP).
• Prepare and review project specifications, technical submittals, BOQs, and shop drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure installation is as per approved drawings and standards.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.), and safety regulations.
• Review vendor and subcontractor quotations and participate in technical evaluations.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including progress reports, QA/QC reports, and change orders.
• Resolve technical issues on-site and escalate major concerns to the Project Manager.
🔹 Material &
Resource Management:• Prepare material requirement plans (MRP) based on approved drawings and BOQs.
• Coordinate with the procurement/purchase team for timely availability of materials.
• Verify materials at site — ensuring correct quantity, quality, and proper documentation.
• Ensure safe storage, systematic issuing, and optimum utilization of all project materials.
• Perform daily material reconciliation with:
– Delivered quantity vs. actual measurement at site
– Pending/balance material status
• Ensure return of unused/excess materials to store/warehouse without any shortage or damage.
• Minimize wastage and maintain proper records & accountability for all material movements.
🔹 Testing,
Commissioning & Handover:• First make the pre commissioning report lead testing, vacuuming, gas charging, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Verify system performance readings and prepare final commissioning reports.
• Ensure defect-free handover to client and coordinate with service/AMC teams.
🔹 Site Coordination
& Client Interaction:• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors for technical issues and approvals.
• Attend project review meetings and update management on progress and challenges.
• Supervise technicians and ensure adherence to company discipline and work ethics.
🔹 Safety, Quality
& Compliance:• Enforce safety measures at project sites and ensure PPE usage.
• Maintain quality checks for brazing, insulation, piping, ducting, wiring, and installation finishing.
• Ensure documentation for statutory and internal compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:Educational Qualification:
• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Specialization in HVAC preferred).
• Additional certification in HVAC Design & Drafting or AutoCAD
(MEP) will be an advantage.
Experience:
• Minimum 3 – 7 years of relevant HVAC project experience including field execution & design. Drafting heat load calculation.
Technical
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of VRF/VRV, ductable, and chiller water systems. Ducting and ventilation system.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD,
Revit and MS Office. Mail drafting, google sheet, power point,
• Knowledge of duct sizing, heat load calculation, and equipment selection.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC design drawings and schematics.
• Familiar with testing, commissioning, and balancing and handing over procedures.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices.
• Excellent project management, communication, and coordination skills.
• Familiarity with codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NBCC, etc.).

Work Environment:• Location: Patna & Nearby Regions (Bihar / Jharkhand as per project assignment)
• Work Hours: As per project schedule (extended hours during commissioning may be required)
• Field Work: Regular site visits & outstation travel mandatory
Reporting To:• Project Manager / Director / Zonal Head
Eligibility Criteria:• Education: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical
• Experience: 3 – 7 Years
• Age: 22 – 40 Years
• License: Two-wheeler license preferred
Salary & Benefits:• Monthly Salary: ₹18,000 – ₹35,000 (Based on experience & capability)
