About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Finance Controller to oversee all aspects of our financial operations and accounting practices of India site. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, cost management, and compliance. This role is pivotal in providing financial insights to drive business decisions and support our ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities

• Financial Control & Accounting:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and publish monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) / IFRS.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and central government reporting requirements and tax filings (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.).
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.

• Cost & Management Accounting:

• Develop and maintain standard costing systems for all products.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Identify and report on variances, their causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor and control operational expenses, driving cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for the plant.

• Treasury & Compliance:

• Hands-on experience managing inter-company payment, reconciliations and accounting in a multi-currency environment.
• Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
• Oversee banking relationships and manage forex transactions.
• Ensure strong internal controls are in place and adhered to for all financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including corporate laws.

• Business Partnership & Strategy:

• Provide decision support to the Plant Head and senior management through in-depth financial analysis, modelling, and scenario planning.
• Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and report on trends.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals (CAPEX) and ensure proper ROI analysis.

• Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team at the plant.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), CPA, with 8-12 year experience preferred or MBA Finance with 10-20 year of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
• Must have hands-on experience working in a plant/factory environment.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting standards, Ind AS, and direct & indirect taxation.
• Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial modelling.
