🏢 BUSINESS HEAD – MADURA BAGS
Department: Retail, Wholesale & E-Commerce Operations
Location: Madurai (Main Branch) & Sivakasi (Branch)
Reporting To: Managing Director
Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Retail Timings)
Weekly Off: One weekday (rotational)
🎯 POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Head will lead the overall growth and daily operations of Madura Bags, managing retail outlets, the Sivakasi branch, and online store operations.
This role combines strong retail leadership, sales strategy, and e-commerce technical management to drive profitability and expansion.
Initially responsible for 2 stores,
the position will expand to multiple outlets across Tamil Nadu based on business performance.
⚙️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
🏬 Retail & Store Operation
Manage all branch operations (Madurai, Sivakasi, and future outlets).
Ensure smooth store performance, cash handling, display standards, and customer service excellence.
Monitor staff attendance, discipline, and sales productivity.
Coordinate between branches for stock transfer, delivery, and inter-store communication.
💰 Sales & Business GrowthPlan and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Launch and monitor discount offers, school/college tie-ups, and festive campaigns.
Review sales reports, identify trends, and suggest revenue-boosting strategies.
Explore new store locations for expansion.
📦 Procurement & Inventory
Manage purchase planning, vendor negotiation, and stock forecasting.
Ensure sufficient stock levels across all branches and the online warehouse.
Monitor SKU performance and avoid over-stocking or under-stocking.
🛍️ Online Store & Technical Operations
Oversee and maintain the official online store / e-commerce platform.
Update product listings, images, pricing, and descriptions regularly.
Track online orders, manage payment gateways, shipping, and customer queries.
Coordinate with logistics partners and ensure timely deliveries.
Work with digital marketing teams to improve website visibility, SEO ranking, and customer engagement.
👨💼 Team ManagementRecruit, train, and manage store executives and online support staff.
Set sales targets for teams and monitor performance metrics.
Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
📈 Finance & Reporting
8Handle branch-wise P&L and profitability monitoring.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for management review.
Ensure accurate billing, daily cash reconciliation, and vendor payment coordination.
🌟 Brand & MarketingCollaborate with marketing teams for promotions, campaigns, and influencer tie-ups.
Maintain a consistent Madura Bags brand identity across physical and digital channels.
🧠 QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLSBachelor’s Degree (MBA preferred) in Business / Retail / Marketing.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in Retail / Consumer Goods / E-Commerce management.
Strong knowledge of:
🖥️ E-commerce Platforms: Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar CMS
💳 Payment Gateways: Razorpay, PayU, Paytm Business
🧾 Inventory Systems & POS Software (e.g., Tally, Marg, Zoho, or similar)
📊 Digital Tools: Excel, Google Sheets, WhatsApp Business, Meta Business Suite
📢 Marketing Knowledge: SEO, Meta Ads, Google My Business, and online branding
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Strong problem-solving attitude and decision-making ability.
🕒 WORK CONDITIONS
Timings: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Retail Schedule)
Weekly Off: One weekday on rotation
During Peak Seasons: Extended hours during school reopening, festival sales, or new store openings.
Frequent Visits: Between Madurai & Sivakasi (travel allowance provided).
