Job Title: Business Head (Chief Executive Officer Designate) Location: Kolkata Reports To: Board of Directors Job Summary: The Business Head will serve as the strategic and operational leader for the entire food company, effectively acting as the Chief Executive Officer. This individual will be responsible for driving overall business growth, profitability, market share, and brand recognition. They will oversee all aspects of the business, from product development and manufacturing to sales, marketing, finance, and human resources, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and long-term objectives. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the food industry, a proven track record of P&L responsibility, and the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Leadership & Vision: Develop and execute the company's strategic plan, aligning it with market trends, consumer demands, and competitive landscape within the food industry. Define and communicate the company's vision, mission, and values, fostering a strong company culture. Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and product innovations to drive sustainable growth. Lead the development of long-term business objectives, annual budgets, and operational plans. 2. Financial Performance & P&L Management: Full ownership of the company's profit and loss (P&L) statement. Drive revenue growth, optimize costs, and enhance profitability. Develop and manage financial forecasts, budgets, and reporting to the Board of Directors. Ensure strong financial controls and responsible resource allocation. Identify and mitigate financial risks. 3. Operations & Supply Chain Excellence: Oversee all aspects of manufacturing, production, quality control, and supply chain management. Optimize operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity. Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices. Foster strong relationships with suppliers and optimize procurement processes. 4. Sales, Marketing & Brand Building: Develop and execute aggressive sales and marketing strategies to expand market reach and penetration. Build and strengthen the company's brand identity and market position. Oversee product development, innovation, and launch strategies. Drive customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction initiatives. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to inform strategic decisions. 5. Team Leadership & Talent Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing executive team and across all departments. Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented work environment. Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies. Champion employee engagement, performance management, and career development. Ensure a strong succession planning process. 6. Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary liaison between the company and the Board of Directors, providing regular updates on performance, strategy, and challenges. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, customers, suppliers, and industry partners. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and public forums. 7. Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards governing the food industry and business operations. Implement and maintain robust corporate governance practices. Oversee risk management strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Operations Management, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is highly preferred. Minimum of 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior executive role (e.g., CEO, COO, Managing Director, or Head of Business Unit) within the food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. Proven track record of full P&L ownership and demonstrable success in driving significant revenue growth and profitability. Deep understanding of the food industry value chain, including sourcing, production, distribution, sales, and marketing. Strong financial acumen and analytical skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically, innovate, and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance standards. Experience with brand building and market expansion.
