Role Summary

You will be responsible for general accounting activities for the plant / manufacturing unit: ensuring accurate recording of transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining statutory compliance, supporting month-end / year-end processes, and enabling finance leadership with data and analyses.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain

  general ledger

  : post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, intercompany entries.
• Process

  AP / AR

  : record vendor invoices, payments, customer invoices, receipts, reconciliations.
• Reconcile

  bank accounts

  , cash, advances, and inter-office balances.
• Manage

  inventory accounting & WIP

  : reconcile book vs physical, record adjustment entries, monitor variances.
• Support

  month-end / quarter-end / year-end closings

  : finalize accounts, provisions, depreciation, expenses, cost transfers, prepare trial balance.
• Handle

  GST / VAT / Indirect Tax

  compliance: prepare returns, reconcile input / output tax, ensure correct classification of transactions.
• Handle

  TDS / withholdings

  : compute, deduct, deposit, file returns, and reconcile with vendor claims.
• Prepare

  statutory reports & compliance

  : assist in audits (internal / statutory), maintain books in compliance with accounting standards.
• Generate

  management reports / MIS

  : P&L, balance sheet variations, expense analyses, cost leakage flags.
• Support budget / forecast exercise: provide historicals, variances, and cost driver insights.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams (production, procurement, logistics) for reconciliations (e.g. material consumption, expense allocations).
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation / SOPs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in a

  manufacturing / production

  environment (or strong exposure).
• Proficient in

  ERP / accounting software

  (Tally, SAP, Odoo, etc.) and excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Good understanding of

  GST / indirect tax

  ,

  TDS / withholding tax

  rules, and statutory compliance.
• Strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills—able to interact with non‐finance teams (ops, procurement).
• Process mindset, able to standardize, document, and improve workflows.

Preferred / Plus

• Experience in

  packaging / plastics / FMCG

  manufacturing domain.
• Exposure to cost / manufacturing accounting or collaboration with costing teams.
• Certification such as

  CMA / ICWA / CA Inter

• Exposure to BI / reporting tools (Power BI / Tableau) for MIS dashboards.
