Position :Vice President (Finance)

Location: Ahmedabad

Company Reputed Infra & RE company with 3200+ employee strength Reporting to CEO


Position Overview:

The Vice President – Finance will lead the company’s finance function, and will be responsible to handle the Accounts, Treasury, Taxation, Payroll, Project Finance, and Corporate Finance.

This role will be pivotal in driving capital raising (debt, mezzanine, equity), IPO readiness, M&A, and providing insights into the financial strategy for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects. The VP – Finance will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and capital efficiency while supporting aggressive business growth through innovative financing solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Fundraising

 Lead the entire function of project finance for renewable energy vertical Patel Greentech (Solar, Wind, BESS) and infrastructure projects.

 Ensure timely availability of funds, capital and efficient utilization to maximize shareholder returns.

 Drive the debt funding, structured finance, mezzanine financing, and refinancing strategies.

 Lead preparation and negotiation of term sheets, MoUs, financing agreements, and shareholder agreements.

 Build and manage long-term relationships with banks, DFIs, multilaterals, rating agencies, and capital markets.

 Plan and Lead IPO preparedness and issuance of IPO of the Organisation (DRHP, RHP, investor presentations, roadshows, equity raising).

 Responsible for Mergers & Acquisitions to scale up business.


Financial Planning & Governance

 Develop robust financial models, forecasts, and corporate planning frameworks.

 Ensure alignment of capital structure with growth strategy.

 Oversee MIS, board presentations, and investor relations.

 Monitor performance against business plans and drive corrective actions.

 Implement best corporate governance practices across the group.


Treasury, Accounts, Taxation & Payroll

 Manage treasury operations, cash flow, hedging, forex, and working capital.  Manage and lead the direct and indirect taxation teams /function (Income Tax, GST, Transfer Pricing, FEMA, RBI compliance).

 Manage external commercial borrowings, covenant compliance, and security creation.

 Lead statutory accounts, internal & external audits, and compliances under Companies Act and other Finance regulations, RBI guidelines, policies and applicable laws such as finance, taxation laws.

 Supervise payroll and employee benefits to ensure accuracy and compliance.


Risk, Compliance & Controls

 Implement robust internal financial controls (IFC) and SOPs.

 Establish procedures for timely debt servicing, covenant compliance, security creation.

 Conduct risk assessments for projects, financing, and contracts.

 Supervise the internal and statutory audits with full transparency.

 Drive digitization and SAP/ERP implementation across finance functions.

 Support contract structuring for renewable projects with Procurement & Legal.

 Manage the SPVs financial structuring, cash flow, fund flows and compliances with Companies Act for maintaining arm’s length distance rules and other applicable legal compliances involving financial, taxation aspects.


Team Leadership

 Lead, mentor, and manage a 15+ member finance team across Accounts, Treasury, Taxation, and Project Finance.

 Build strong coordination with Business Development, Procurement, Legal, and Operations teams.

 Establish SOPs, approval processes, and standardized reporting formats.

 Ability to implement strict and stringent internal controls to prevent and detect financial frauds ensuring transparency and fool proof accounting and financial management.


Ethics & Governance Commitment

The role is expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and corporate governance in all financial dealings, ensuring strict alignment with the company’s compliance framework and zero tolerance for conflicts of interest.


Qualifications & Experience

 Chartered Accountant / MBA (Finance) / CFA or equivalent and LLB will be an added advantage.

 18–25 years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, or EPC sectors.

 Proven track record in raising large-scale debt/structured financing (₹1,000+ Cr deals).

 Exposure to IPO readiness, equity fundraising, and capital markets.

 Strong background in treasury, taxation, project finance, and corporate governance.

 Hands-on experience in SAP/digitization initiatives preferred.

 Demonstrated success in managing large finance teams (15+ members).
