Role Overview
The Practice Head – Information Security & Cybersecurity Services will lead Smartedge Consulting’s cybersecurity practice, driving business growth, technical excellence, and delivery capability. This role will focus on establishing Smartedge as a trusted partner for clients seeking robust cybersecurity, data protection, and governance solutions, including ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2, GDPR compliance, and advanced risk management frameworks.
The incumbent will be responsible for strategy, P&L ownership, practice development, client delivery, talent development, and market positioning to align with Smartedge’s vision of reaching ₹100 Cr revenue by 2030.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and execute a
strategic roadmap
for scaling cybersecurity services in India and GCC regions. - Own
P&L for the cybersecurity practice
, ensuring revenue, profitability, and growth targets are met. - Identify
emerging technologies and trends
(e.g., cloud security, OT security, AI-driven threat detection) and integrate them into Smartedge’s offerings. - Drive cross-selling of cybersecurity services across Smartedge’s other verticals like IMS, ESG, Safety, and Energy Efficiency.
2. Practice Development & Offerings
- Build a
comprehensive cybersecurity services portfolio
, including: - ISO 27001, ISO 27701 implementation & certification support
- SOC 2 readiness & audit preparation
- GDPR and data privacy compliance
- Cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Cyber maturity assessments and risk management
- Threat modeling, incident response, and business continuity planning
- GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) solutions
- Develop
service-specific playbooks, SOPs, and consulting methodologies
to ensure standardized, scalable delivery. - Establish
Smartedge-branded toolkits and templates
, including risk registers, compliance trackers, audit checklists, and reporting dashboards.
3. Client Delivery & Engagement
- Lead key client engagements, ensuring high-quality
project delivery and customer satisfaction
. - Serve as
subject matter expert (SME)
for client consultations, proposals, and workshops. - Oversee
Gap Assessments, Risk Assessments, and Certification Readiness
for client organizations. - Provide
executive-level advisory
to clients on cybersecurity strategy, policies, and governance frameworks. - Build
long-term relationships with CXOs
, positioning Smartedge as their trusted cybersecurity partner.
4. Business Development & GTM Execution
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to
generate leads and close deals
. - Represent Smartedge at
industry forums, conferences, and webinars
to strengthen brand visibility. - Prepare
proposals, RFP responses, and solution decks
customized to client needs. - Develop
sector-specific GTM strategies
for industries like Pharma, FMCG, Healthcare, Logistics, IT Parks, and Infrastructure.
5. Team Building & Capability Development
- Build and mentor a
high-performing cybersecurity consulting team
. - Define a
competency framework and skill development roadmap
for consultants. - Implement the
Smartedge Consultant Development Academy (CDA)
for cybersecurity specialization. - Foster a culture of
continuous learning, innovation, and compliance excellence

6. Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure
service delivery aligns with global best practices
, including ISO 27001, NIST CSF, COBIT, and GDPR. - Establish a
practice-level quality management system
, aligning with Smartedge’s IMS. - Implement
metrics, KPIs, and dashboards
to track performance and ensure accountability. - Regularly review and improve
practice-level policies, procedures, and methodologies

Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Certifications preferred:
- ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Lead Implementer
- CISSP, CISM, CISA
- GDPR DPO Certification
- SOC 2 practitioner-level certifications
Experience:
- 12–18 years of total experience, with at least
8+ years in information security consulting
. - Proven track record of
building and leading cybersecurity practices
or teams. - Hands-on experience with
ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and other global frameworks
. - Strong exposure to
GRC solutions, risk management, and compliance transformation projects
