Role Purpose
Build and lead Smartedge’s Safety Practice across India, with four core offerings: (1) Safety Audits, (2) Contractor Safety (CSMS), (3) Safety Training, and (4) Safety Culture Transformation. Own P&L, solution design, delivery excellence, and team capability to drive measurable improvements in client safety performance.

Responsibilities
1) Strategy & P&L
- Own AOP, pricing, margin controls, capacity planning, and quarterly forecasts.
- Define sector plays (Pharma/API, FMCG, Auto, Logistics, Infra/Construction, IT Parks/Data Centers, Hospitals).

2) Business Development & Solutioning
- Drive discovery, site reconnaissance, bid/no-bid, SoW/proposals, and commercials.
- Build playbooks, case studies, and ROI narratives; partner with Marketing for webinars/expos.
- Key account mining and cross-sell with IMS-QEHS, Energy (ISO 50001), ESG.
3) Delivery Excellence (by Pillar)
Safety Audits:
- Lead compliance & systems audits (IS 14489, Factory/State Rules, NBC, IE Rules, PESO, Fire NOCs).
- Standardize audit plans, sampling, scoring, risk prioritization (SIF potential), and CAPA governance.
Contractor Safety (CSMS):
- Establish end-to-end CSMS: pre-qualification, onboarding, PTW/JSA/LOTO, supervision, toolbox talks, performance rating, and consequence management.
- Integrate with site KPIs; close contractor NCRs within agreed SLAs.
Safety Training:
- Architect curricula (induction to advanced), sector-specific modules, micro-learning, and assessments.
- Build ToT model; maintain trainer pool, calendars, and LMS/reporting.
Safety Culture Transformation:
- Deploy BBS, leadership walk-throughs, safety gemba, near-miss programs, and recognition systems.
- Baseline culture maturity; run routines & dashboards; demonstrate trend improvements.
4) Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Set practice QMS: document control, audits-of-audits, peer reviews, and sign-off gates.
- Ensure statutory alignment and ethical compliance; manage subcontractor due diligence and data security.
5) People Leadership
- Hire, onboard, coach; define KRAs/KPIs; run performance reviews and certification plans.
- Field readiness (PPE, travel safety), mentoring, and succession planning.
6) Innovation & IP
- Build sector checklists, RA matrices, PTW/JSA libraries, CSMS scorecards, and culture indices.
- Publish 12+ thought-leadership pieces/year; maintain lessons-learned & benchmark repository.
- Safety dashboards (leading/lagging indicators) with Power BI/Sheets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s in Engineering/Science;
NEBOSH IGC/IDip/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety
(must-have). 12–18+ years
in EHS/Process Safety with multi-site exposure; consulting experience preferred.- Proven leadership of
audits, CSMS deployments, training programs, and culture change
. - Hands-on with
HIRA/RA, PTW, JSA, LOTO, BBS, incident investigation
(5-Why/TapRooT). - Strong knowledge of
Factories Act & State Rules, IS/NBC/IE Codes, Fire norms, PESO
. - Bonus: HAZOP/HAZID facilitation, Pharma/API/chemicals or large infra experience.
