About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst. A high caliber Management Reporting individual contributor, the successful candidate will be the key finance contact and business partner to Corporate Finance and Line of Business Finance stakeholders. The candidate will be required to provide detailed financial reporting and analysis, planning and forecasting, presentations and insights, to help drive top-level executive financial reporting that supports strategic business decisions.
In This Role, You Will
- Participate in low to moderately complex functions related to financial research, analysis, and reporting
- Review and analyze key financial metrics reporting, including but not limited to budgeting analysis, forecasting analysis, variance analysis, variance commentary, reporting, reviews and presentation
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the scope of responsibilities
- Research low to moderately complex financial data in support of accurate reporting and analysis
- Exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables around key metrics forecasting, data analysis, and validation
- Present recommendations for resolving all aspects of delivering key financial projections as well as financial reporting to support forecasting and budgeting processes
- Develop expertise on reporting that meets brand standards and internal control standards
- Collaborate and consult with peers, functional colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Job Expectation:
- Lead initiatives related to financial research and reporting
- Coordinate and execute the production of companywide reports
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support requests from executive management on various matters, including business performance, process improvement, and business transformation
- Interact with senior executives as part of ad hoc analysis requests
- Work with business leaders and business partners to identify reporting and analysis opportunities, and to provide custom reporting, while creatively determining how to best summarize and visualize results
- Play a leading role in continuing to improve the collection, connectivity, and reporting effectiveness of financial data, including but not limited to:
- Determine data needs, source and analyze the underlying financial data used to create reports, and to execute all associated processes and controls
- Partner with internal data providers and stakeholders across all lines of business with the goal to maintain and improve the accuracy and timeliness of reporting on an ongoing basis
- Continue to improve the quality of results by participating in or driving both short- and long-term initiatives to improve the operating model and the quality of sourced data
- Investigate and explain period on period variances in source data. This includes creating data adjustments to resolve data quality issues on a re-occurring and ad hoc basis
- Focus on reduction of manual controls, automation of manual processes, reduction of handoffs, and increasing operational efficiency with executive dashboards and presentations
- Make decisions in maintaining effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standards and internal control standards
- Support the advancement of broader Finance objectives, including facilitating strategic decisions and outcomes, enhancing existing processes or introducing incremental opportunities to strengthen process linkages and data consistency across the enterprise

Desired Qualifications:
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, reporting, data management, or similar fields
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Business or a complementary field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar)
- Excellent working knowledge of Essbase and financial reporting systems and applications
- Strong technical and visualization skills (particularly MS Excel and Power BI)
- Proficiency in creating high quality presentations suitable for executive management
- Understanding of financial analysis, financial statements, and key processes in financial services companies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy - proven ability to produce quality results timely
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to complete data investigations and summarize findings in a clear and meaningful way
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to summarize findings into concise points geared towards the Audience
- Demonstrated success in a matrixed environment or in cross-functional role(s)
- Proven ability to prioritize, stay organized, and bring tasks to complete closure with minimal supervision
- Independent critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making
Desired Skills:
- Experience data management tools (Power BI, Alteryx, VBA, Python, SQL)
- Good hands-on BI reporting experience preferably in Power BI and Tableau
- Experience in performing data analysis
- Experience with finance technology-enabled data solutions
- Some project leadership experience including ability to facilitate project and process improvements across a large organization, or change management experience
- Experience within the banking industry is preferred
