Assistant General Manager

Job Title - AGM / DGM – Accounts & Finance

Company Industry: Printing and Packaging

Location: North India (Preference: Uttarakhand)

Reporting To: Plant head / CFO / Director – Finance

Experience: Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience

(Manufacturing / FMCG / Packaging / Industrial setup preferred)

Qualification:

• CA / ICWAI (Completed) – Strongly Preferred
• MBA (Finance) may be considered if exposure is exceptional

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts
• Preparation of Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow Statements
• Ensuring compliance with Companies Act, Accounting Standards (Ind AS)
• Handling statutory, internal, tax & cost audits

2. Taxation & Compliance

• Direct Taxes: Income Tax, TDS, assessments, notices
• Indirect Taxes: GST compliance, returns, reconciliation, audits
• Liaison with tax authorities, auditors, consultants
• Ensuring timely statutory filings and compliance calendars

3. Budgeting, Costing & MIS

• Preparation and monitoring of annual budgets & forecasts
• Product costing, variance analysis, and cost optimization
• Development of MIS reports for management decision-making
• Plant-wise profitability and cost control

4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Cash flow planning and working capital management
• Banking operations, fund utilization, and limits management
• Negotiation with banks for LCs, BGs, WC limits
• Monitoring receivables, payables, and inventory cycles

5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Strengthening internal control systems & SOPs
• Risk assessment and mitigation
• Implementation of best financial practices
• ERP / SAP / Oracle / Tally integration and control

6. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Leading and mentoring accounts & finance teams
• Inter-department coordination with Operations, HR, Purchase, Commercial
• Performance monitoring and capability building

7. Strategic & Management Support

• Financial analysis for capex, expansion, and investments
• Supporting management in strategic planning
• Preparation of presentations and reports for Board / Management reviews

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Accounting, Taxation & Corporate Laws
• Manufacturing finance exposure (preferred)
• Hands-on experience in ERP / SAP / Advanced Excel
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and leadership skills
• Strong communication & stakeholder management
• Ability to handle multi-location plants (preferred)

Preferred Industry Background

• Manufacturing / Packaging / FMCG / Industrial Products
• Multi-plant or group company exposure is an advantage
