About the Role

Vice President of Engineering

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned with Novatro’s product vision
• Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams across India
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Champion engineering excellence, quality standards, and best practices

Technical Delivery & Operations

• Oversee software delivery from architecture through production deployment
• Ensure scalable, secure, and reliable software platforms
• Collaborate with product, design, and AI teams for roadmap planning and execution
• Lead initiatives on system architecture, scalability, and performance

People & Organizational Development

• Own talent acquisition, onboarding, and career development within engineering
• Build a diverse, inclusive, and engaged engineering organization
• Establish performance management processes and personal development plans

Process & Practices

• Define engineering workflows, agile processes, and tooling standards
• Lead initiatives on code quality, testing automation, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Drive data-driven decision making within engineering

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product, AI, Sales, and Customer Success teams
• Represent engineering in leadership forums and strategic planning

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
• Proven experience scaling engineering teams in high-growth companies
• Strong technical background in SaaS, cloud-native platforms, and modern web technologies
• Excellent leadership, people management, and team-building skills
• Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and product-driven development
• Excellent communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing tech, ERP systems, or AI-powered platforms
• Exposure to startup or growth-phase company environments
• Experience with distributed teams and global collaboration
• Background in cost optimization, security, and scaling infrastructure
