Job Title - Vice President(Operations / Manufacturing)
Location - Ludhiana, Punjab, India
Salary - Up to ₹30 LPA (all‑inclusive) depending on experience and fit for the role.
Position Summary - The VP of Operations will oversee all manufacturing operations at BigBen, ensuring excellence in process execution, quality of output, cost‑effectiveness, and growth. This role requires experience across multiple manufacturing processes, strong systems implementation (ERP / SAP / Oracle etc.), vendor & customer negotiations, and leadership in team building and culture development. A key focus will be driving profitability, process improvements, strategic growth, and developing a strong operations organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing & Process Excellence
- Oversee all manufacturing processes: press shop, surface treatments (pre‑treatment, powder coating, chrome/zinc plating), ED plastics, injection moulding (PP, CP, PU), foam moulding, metal welding & assembly, synthetic resins, PVC operations.
- Ensure process optimisation: reduce cycle times, minimize rejects, maximize yield, control wastage.
- Implement and manage preventive & predictive maintenance to ensure uptime, quality and safety.
- Quality & Standards
- Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of quality systems, audits (internal & external), ensuring compliance with local/international standards.
- Use methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc. to drive quality improvements.
- Ensure surface finish, coatings, moulded parts, welds etc., meet design and regulatory specifications.
- Cost, Profitability & Financial Controls
- Establish and own P&L of the plant/operations. Drive profitability: monitor cost of goods, overheads, utility costs, labour and material efficiency.
- Vendor price negotiations (raw materials, chemicals, plating services, coatings etc.), customer price settlements and contracts.
- Create & manage budgets, forecasts; ensure financial discipline in operations.
- ERP / Systems & Reporting
- Oversee ERP implementation/use (SAP or another), ensure accurate data flow, inventory control, production scheduling, costing.
- Use tools like Google Drive / equivalent / Oracle (if used) to maintain documentation, reporting.
- Provide regular reporting to executive team / board: KPIs, metrics (productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety), scorecards.
- Team Building, Leadership & Culture
- Build, mentor and lead a high‑performance operations team: process engineers, quality managers, maintenance, supervisors.
- Foster a culture of initiative, continuous improvement, ownership. Promote cross‑functional collaboration.
- Drive Kaizen / 5S / LEAN behaviour & thinking across the plant.
- Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Plan for scaling operations: capacity expansion, new process introduction, plant layouts, technology upgrades.
- Identify new customer opportunities, new product lines where feasible; support sales / marketing in terms of manufacturing feasibility.
- Evaluate investments in capex, technology, automation / advanced machinery to stay competitive.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Education: Engineering degree (Mechanical / Chemical / Plastics / Metallurgy etc.). Advanced degree (MBA / Master’s) preferred.
- Experience: 15‑25+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, at least 8‑10 years in senior leadership roles (GM / Head of Operations / Plant Manager). Experience in a complex multi‑process manufacturing set‑up.
- Process experience: Must have hands‑on experience with:
- Press shop operations
- Surface finishing: pre‑treatment, powder coating, chrome/plating, zinc plating
- Plastics: ED plastics, injection moulder (PP/CP/PU), foam moulding
- Welding, assembly, synthetic resins, PVC operations
- Systems & tools: Strong experience with ERP (SAP or equivalent), Oracle (if applicable), Google Drive / collaboration tools. Familiarity with Six Sigma, LEAN, quality audit standards.
- Vendor / Customer negotiations: Proven experience in procurement, price negotiation, customer price settlement.
- Leadership & Soft Skills: Excellent team building, communication skills; able to lead change; drive culture of ownership; strong analytical & problem solving skills.
- Other: Knowledge of statutory / environmental / safety compliance; ability to travel as needed.

- Yield, reject rates, rework costs
- On‑time delivery performance
- Cost per unit / cost savings achieved
- Profit margin of operations

- Employee engagement / turnover in operations
