Join us as a Vice President – Financial Control and help transform challenges into opportunities by managing the financial operations of the organization. You will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. In this role, you will lead the Accounting and Reporting for Barclays entities based in the Americas region. Additionally, you’re expected to lead an NDA project, a strategic one for the growth of USCB segment and well aligned to Barclays three years and future plan. This will involve integrating a business and person is expected to drive the overall strategy, planning, and execution from India. Few critical ones to call out – management reporting/segmental hierarchy strategy, ledger integration and reporting, leading and implementing US GAAP to IFRS differences, engagement with KPMG on substantive procedures. Candidate is expected to manage couple of resources and may need to provide complete oversight on BBDE in mid to long term.
Basic/ Essential Qualifications:
CA/CFA or equivalent certification with 12+ years of post-qualification experience (for external candidates) including leadership experience managing large teams.
Expert knowledge of IFRS and IAS reporting standards; working knowledge of US GAAP compliance.
Strong understanding of accounting for banking and trading/markets products, including complex structures.
Experience with AI/ML and modern technologies such as Alteryx is preferred.
Proven track record in leading change management initiatives, including system migrations, tool adoption, and business restructuring.
Desirable skillsets/ good to have:
Lead controllership activities including month-end close processes, account reconciliation and substantiation, disclosures, and financial statement preparation/presentation.
Manage financial operations for banking and trading (investment banking) products within large-scale banking and financial services organizations.
Navigate complex system architectures and data flows, with advanced knowledge of downstream reporting requirements.
Establish new processes and governance frameworks to meet evolving internal and external accounting/reporting requirements.
Ensure robust control and governance frameworks for financial reporting in the banking/trading domain.
Engage effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Oversee multiple statutory audits and ensure compliance with related governance protocols.
