There has never been a better time to join EQ.Role SummaryThe Test Engineering Manager will lead the Non-Functional Test Team, driving the vision, strategy, and operating model for load and performance testing across the organisation. This role is accountable for ensuring alignment between testing objectives and broader business and technology strategies, delivering measurable value through scalable, high-quality testing practices.Expected Outcomes
- Lead a high-performing team delivering consistent, scalable, and reliable non-functional testing.
- Build stakeholder confidence in performance testing as a business enabler.
- Drive continuous improvement in team capability, tools, and processes aligned with industry best practices.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and evolve non-functional testing strategy, frameworks, and maturity roadmap.
- Align team objectives with business and testing strategies.
- Govern testing performance through KPIs, metrics, and reporting.
Operational Excellence
- Manage resource planning, prioritisation, and capability deployment.
- Influence decisions through engagement with senior stakeholders.
- Drive innovation via new tools, automation, and best practices.
- Act as escalation point for non-functional testing issues.
- Support daily operations including risk management and defect tracking.
People Development & Governance
- Coach and mentor engineers to foster learning and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to frameworks, standards, and governance.
- Report progress and quality outcomes to senior stakeholders.
- Identify future capability needs and champion continuous improvement.
Skills & Attributes
Technical Expertise
- Hands-on experience in non-functional testing, especially load/performance.
- Strong knowledge of performance engineering, tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling), and monitoring (e.g., New Relic).
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native testing.
- Ability to design scalable testing frameworks.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Proven experience leading test teams in complex environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational ability balancing strategy and execution.
- Experience in Agile environments with CI/CD and iterative delivery.

Qualifications
- Technical degree (Engineering, Computer Science); post-graduation preferred.
- MBA in Systems desirable.
- Experience in SaaS product development and portfolio management.
