Senior Manager – Training & Transition (CX)


Senior Manager – Training & Transition

This high-impact leadership role combines ownership of training delivery and transition execution, ensuring seamless migration, readiness, and performance excellence across all service channels — phone, chat, and email.

The ideal candidate is a proven training and transition leader with deep airline industry expertise, demonstrated success in managing large-scale ramp-ups, knowledge transfers, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment across multi-site CX operations.



Key Responsibilities


Strategic Training Leadership

  • Develop and execute integrated training and transition strategies for airline CX operations covering end-to-end travel processes, covering new booking, schedule changes, cancellations, exchanges, codeshares, ancillaries, and disruption management
  • Lead transition planning and execution for new processes and lines of business, ensuring structured knowledge transfer, documentation, training readiness, and operational handover
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and success metrics for all transition initiatives
  • Drive large-scale ramp-ups (600-800 FTEs) with synchronized training, onboarding, and process deployment plans aligned with operational milestones
  • Institutionalize blended learning frameworks (ILT, e-learning, and hybrid) ensuring scalability, standardization, and continuous improvement


People Leadership

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team of 15–20 training professionals, including trainers, training managers, leading transition activities as an individual contributor in sync with cross functional teams
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration across the team
  • Drive structured coaching, mentoring, and performance management to strengthen internal capability pipelines.


Content Development & Learning Systems

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of impactful learning content for airline operations, covering fare rules, ARC/BSP compliance, IATA/TICO/DOT/ICAO guidelines, and customer handling standards.
  • Ensure instructional design best practices are followed using tools like InVideo, Storyline, Moodle, or similar platforms.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to update learning materials in line with industry changes and regulatory requirements.


Stakeholder & Business Partnership

  • Serve as the strategic link between client stakeholders, operations leadership, and enablement teams to align training and transition outcomes with business goals
  • Review and present training and transition performance metrics, analyse trends, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring process compliance and readiness documentation integrity


Ideal Candidate Profile


Must-Have:

  • 10-12 years of progressive experience in training and transition combined, with at least 6–8 years in people management roles
  • Proven experience as a Manager – Training & Transition leading large-scale airline or OTA airline CX operations (600-800 FTEs)
  • Hands-on expertise in travel industry processes and deep knowledge of international airline operations, including ARC, BSP, IATA, DOT, TICO, ICAO
  • Exposure to project management and transition frameworks (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated expertise in transitioning new processes, leading knowledge transfers, and managing operational readiness within tight ramp-up timelines
  • Strong data-driven mindset with proficiency in analysing learning effectiveness and transition KPIs
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
  • Flexibility to travel to client or partner sites as required


Preferred:

  • Strong instructional design and content development skills for ILT (Instructor led training), e-learning, and hybrid models (Instructional Design certification is a plus)
  • Ability to navigate complex global operations, balancing strategic vision with on-ground execution agility
