Core Responsibilities for Senior Accountant at Shree Ganesh Roadline
Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain the general ledger: record journal entries, post and classify financial transactions (revenue, expenses, freight/transport-related charges, overheads, etc.).
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of balance-sheet accounts — bank accounts, receivables, payables, intercompany/ inter-branch accounts (if any).
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow), and MIS reports for management review.
- Prepare regular financial reports (monthly/quarterly/annual) summarizing company performance, costs, revenues, cash flow etc.
Accounts Payable / Receivable & Cash-flow / Working Capital Management
- Oversee accounts receivable (billing to clients/customers, freight/shipping invoices) and accounts payable (vendor bills, maintenance, fuel, transport-related costs) to ensure timely and accurate payments and receipts.
- Monitor and manage cash flow — track receivables/ payables, forecast cash requirements, coordinate with operations/logistics teams to align costs with collections. (Important especially in transport/logistics where cash-flow timing may fluctuate.)
- Maintain records of advances, freight-related bills, vendor payments, and any other transport-specific expenses (e.g. vehicle maintenance, fuel, tolls, warehousing) to ensure transparency and auditability.
Budgeting, Cost Analysis & Cost Control

- Perform variance analysis: compare actual costs and revenues against budgets/forecasts, highlight anomalies, and provide explanations / actionable insights to management.
- Work closely with operations/transport teams to track cost centers (e.g. per vehicle, per route, per shipment), ensure cost allocation is accurate, and suggest cost-saving measures wherever possible (fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, optimal routing etc.).

- Collaborate with operations, logistics, fleet management or maintenance teams (as relevant) to coordinate cost tracking, allocate costs properly (fuel, maintenance, vehicle depreciation, tolls, driver allowances, etc.) and ensure accurate accounting of all operational expenditures.
Financial Analysis & Management Support
- Provide management with financial analysis, KPI reports, cost-volume-profit analysis, route profitability, cash-flow projections, and insight for strategic decisions (fleet expansion, cost optimization, pricing, route planning).
