Role Overview

The Procurement Manager – Import & Supply Chain will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing, vendor management, and import operations for uPVC profiles, hardware, and allied materials. This role demands strong negotiation, analytical, and coordination skills to manage both domestic and international suppliers efficiently, ensuring timely availability of materials at optimal cost and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the procurement strategy for domestic and imported materials (uPVC profiles, glass, hardware, etc.) aligned with production and project timelines.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard global suppliers (mainly from Europe, China, and other key sourcing regions) for materials and components.
  • Manage import documentation, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and coordination with CHA/logistics partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and incoterms (FOB, CIF, etc.) to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and monitor lead times to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with the Operations, Projects, and Finance teams for demand forecasting, budgeting, and payment cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, BIS certifications, and company procurement policies.
  • Develop supplier scorecards and conduct periodic performance reviews for quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Track market trends, material cost fluctuations, and identify opportunities for cost savings or alternate sourcing.
  • Implement digital tools (ERP, procurement dashboards) to streamline procurement visibility and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management; MBA preferred.
  • 6–10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3–5 years managing import operations in building materials, uPVC, aluminum, glass, or hardware industries.
  • Proven experience in vendor development, international sourcing, and logistics coordination.
  • Strong understanding of import documentation, LC management, incoterms, and customs clearance processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, or equivalent).
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.
