What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Global Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive the initial market penetration and pipeline generation for the Quark Publishing Platform within the world's most highly regulated, highly complex, and highly automated Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sectors.
This is a critical, strategy-focused role responsible for defining the global Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy, identifying and qualifying high-value enterprise prospects, and initiating strategic account engagements focused on GXP and Submission Content. You will position our cutting-edge
Component Content Management System (CCMS) as the core solution for digital transformation, ensuring clients achieve end-to-end content automation, compliance, and operational efficiency across the drug development lifecycle.
A key focus of this role is leveraging and managing our ecosystem of strategic technology partners, such as Microsoft, to co-develop market messaging, drive qualified leads, and establish channels that meet stringent global governance standards required for product approval and safety management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Market Definition & Pipeline Generation:
- Define, develop, and execute a comprehensive global market penetration strategy focusing on top-tier Pharma and Life Sciences organizations and key therapeutic areas.
- Proactively conduct account-based research, identifying and qualifying complex opportunities related to Regulatory Submissions, Quality Documentation, and Drug Labeling across major international markets (North America, EMEA, APAC).
- Establish and manage a robust qualified lead pipeline, utilizing consultative engagement and marketing insights.
- Define clear qualification criteria and seamlessly transition opportunities (post-discovery) to the assigned Enterprise Sales team for deal closure.
- Track and report on key pipeline metrics, market feedback, and strategic initiatives, contributing to the overall global revenue target.
2. Strategic Business Development & Network Building:
- Cultivate and leverage an extensive, executive-level network of contacts within large, global pharmaceutical and biotech accounts, focused on generating initial dialogue. Focus areas include Global Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance (QA/Validation), Pharmacovigilance, R&D, Clinical Operations, and Enterprise IT/Architecture.
- Act as the primary liaison for strategic technology partners (e.g., Microsoft), developing joint value propositions and co-marketing strategies that result in referral business within the Life Sciences vertical.
- Initiate high-level strategic engagements, mapping the platform’s foundational value proposition to complex client business needs, specifically related to eCTD preparation, SOP standardization, and managing validated systems.
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape to refine market messaging and positioning.
3. Regulatory and Technical Acumen:
- Maintain a deep, current understanding of the evolving global regulatory landscape (FDA, EMA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11) and how they impact pharmaceutical content workflows (e.g., CTD/eCTD structure, Clinical Study Reports, and CMC documentation).
- Articulate the urgent need for intelligent content automation and demonstrate how the CCMS provides the necessary traceability, version control, and audit readiness required by highly compliant environments.
- Collaborate closely with internal Product and Marketing teams, providing crucial voice-of-customer (VOC) insights to inform future product development and marketing content specifically for the Life Sciences industry.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in Global Business Development or Strategic Consulting, focused on sophisticated software or technology platforms (SaaS, CCMS, DMS, or Content Automation) targeted at multi-national Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences organizations.
- Demonstrable Success: Proven track record in successfully generating and qualifying a high-value pipeline of complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise opportunities within the pharma sector.
- Partnership Experience: Direct experience developing and managing lead-generating relationships with strategic technology partners (e.g., Microsoft, large system integrators).
- Industry Expertise: Extensive understanding of the drug development lifecycle and the role of content in Regulatory Submissions (IND/NDA) and Pharmacovigilance.
- Technical Acumen: Experience positioning and articulating the business value of solutions that involve integration with major enterprise platforms (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint/Office 365, QMS, LIMS, RIM systems).
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biology, or a related technical field is required. An MBA or advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel.
