General Manager HR - Factories Position Type: Full Time Career Function: Human Resources Location: Hyderabad About the Role: The General Manager - HR for Factories will provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the Unit HR & Admin teams for implementing best in class, standardized & simplified “Hire to Retire” workflows. The individual will act as an operational bridge between the corporate office & the manufacturing units and shall own, be responsible & accountable for the talent acquisition, talent management, talent retention, employee experience & exit management among others. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industry and a proven track record of implementing effective HR strategies that align with business objectives. Through a combination of internal and external interventions, the individual is expected to help Sigachi become an “Employer of Choice”. The role reports to the SVP – HR Corporate office and is based at the corporate office in Hyderabad. Responsibilities: 1. HR Strategy & Policy Management • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with organizational goals • Formulate and review HR policies to ensure relevance and compliance with changing regulations • Oversee HR budgeting and resource allocation for maximum effectiveness. 2. Manpower budgeting, planning and monitoring • Liaise with functional HoDs to determine manpower requirement, both full time & contractual and ensure staffing availability at the right time. • Monitor the daily helper availability, and make plans proactively to ensure continuous supply of people, especially during the off-season time. 3. Talent Management • Lead performance management systems and initiatives • Oversee employee onboarding, development, and separation processes • Implement effective talent acquisition strategies • Design and manage training, coaching, and development programs. 4. Employee & Labor Relations • Handle industrial and public relations at the plant level • Manage grievance handling mechanisms and resolution processes • Oversee trade union negotiations and relationship management • Ensure effective contract labour management and compliance 5. Compliance & Legal • Ensure strict adherence to all labor laws and statutory requirements • Maintain liaison with government officials and regulatory bodies including: o Factories Department o ESI and EPFO o Labor Department o Pollution Control Board o Employment Exchange o Forest Department o Fire Services o Tribal Welfare o HMDA, GHMC, Panchayat o Legal Metrology (Weights & Measurements) o Commissioner of Industries/DIC • Coordinate with advocates and police as required 6. Administration & Facilities • Oversee workplace welfare initiatives • Manage health, safety, environment, and security compliance • Supervise housekeeping, horticulture, and canteen services • Ensure proper facility management. 7. Vendor Management • Manage off-roll blue-collar contract workforce • Oversee manpower vendor relationships and ensure compliance • Monitor service quality and cost-effectiveness Pre-requisites: 1. 18 - 25 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 - 8 years in a leadership role 2. Person must have cluster HR Head responsibilities, preferably in pharmaceutical, chemical, or related manufacturing industries 3. Strong background in industrial relations and labor law compliance 4. Must be tech savvy to deploy, implement & execute HR tech solutions as a way of operations. 5. Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field 6. Clear communication in English & Hindi is a must. Regional language preferred. 7. Proficient in MS Office Suite – minimum intermediary level in Excel, PowerPoint & Word 8. High energy, ability to energize, creative & learning mindset. 9. Experience in handling union negotiations and collective bargaining.
