About the Role

Head of Finance

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Leadership

  • Act as a strategic partner to senior management and the Board, providing insights based on financial analysis, forecasting, and performance projections.
  • Support project leaders with financial planning, reviewing budgets, monthly/quarterly reports, and grant-wise financial insights.
  • Lead annual organizational budgeting and guide financial policies, systems, and administrative procedures.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives and support investment decisions.

Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee financial accounting, fund management, banking, and risk management activities.
  • Manage monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, payroll, and benefits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely MIS and taxation-related reporting.
  • Lead the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and timely closure of year-end financials.
  • Manage treasury operations including payments, transfers, and credit control.

Governance & Reporting

  • Oversee legal and statutory compliance aligned with charity and company regulations.
  • Prepare and present financial reports for grants, major contracts, and organizational initiatives.
  • Conduct Board meetings, ensure documentation, follow-ups, and statutory reporting requirements.

People & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Inspire, mentor, and guide teams to achieve financial and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, service providers, auditors, and senior leadership.

Desired Profile

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working in large nonprofit organizations is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in financial systems and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • High integrity, strategic mindset, and leadership capability.
