Job Description – Factory Manager (Entrance Automation & Security Products)

MAGTECH Security Systems Pvt. Ltd. (Mactec) is a leader in indigenous manufacturing of advanced physical security and entrance automation products, including crash-rated bollards, boom barriers, road blockers, tyre killers, sliding gates, swing barriers, under vehicle scanning systems (UVSS), X-ray baggage scanners, and metal detectors. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Factory Manager to head our manufacturing facility in Chennai. The role demands deep technical expertise, proven managerial capability, and cross-functional knowledge to ensure excellence in product delivery, compliance, and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end factory operations for sheet metal fabrication, welding, CNC machining, bending, forming, and precision assembly processes.

• Oversee production of complex entrance automation products such as hydraulic bollards, electro-mechanical boom barriers, sliding gates, tyre killers, and crash-rated road blockers.

• Ensure high-quality manufacturing of advanced security products including UVSS, X-ray baggage scanners, DFMDs, and EVD systems with integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.

• Plan, schedule, and monitor production to meet deadlines while optimizing manpower, material, and machine efficiency.

• Implement and enforce strict quality control (QC) measures aligned with ISO, CE, AERB, and crash-rating compliance standards.

• Collaborate closely with R&D, design, and engineering teams for prototype development, testing, and production scaling.

• Handle hydraulic and electro-mechanical system assemblies, ensuring precision alignment, testing, and safety validation.

• Supervise electrical and electronic integration in assemblies including PLC controls, sensors, motors, and automation components.

• Ensure proper documentation of test reports, calibration certificates, and inspection records for tender and client compliance.

• Establish preventive maintenance schedules for machines and tools to minimize downtime and ensure maximum productivity.

• Drive cost optimization, vendor coordination, and material procurement strategies while maintaining quality standards.

• Train, mentor, and build technical capability among engineers, supervisors, and operators to achieve operational excellence.

• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure adherence to industrial safety standards, fire safety, and EHS policies.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and certification bodies during factory audits, inspections, and approval processes.

• Provide technical inputs to support tender requirements, client demos, and product customization for specialized projects.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Expertise in sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, welding, milling, cutting, bending, and forming processes.

• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electro-mechanical assemblies relevant to entrance automation systems.

• Hands-on experience in integration of motors, sensors, controllers, and automation systems (PLC/SCADA).

• Understanding of industrial safety standards, crash-rating compliance (ASTM, PAS68, IWA14), and quality certifications.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD models, hydraulic schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.

• Experience in factory management including production planning, manpower handling, and workflow optimization.

• Knowledge of quality assurance, third-party inspection, calibration, and industrial testing procedures.

• Familiarity with AERB compliance, Make-in-India guidelines, and government tender technical requirements is an advantage.

• Proven leadership and problem-solving skills to drive efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate across technical, managerial, and client-facing functions.

Education & Experience:

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical & Instrumentation / EEE / ECE (or equivalent).

• Minimum 10 years of industrial experience in manufacturing, preferably in sheet metal fabrication and automation products.

• Proven track record in managing factory operations, production teams, and complex industrial projects.

• Experience with security product manufacturing (bollards, barriers, UVSS, scanners, etc.) will be given priority.

• Local candidates from Chennai and nearby regions will be preferred.
