Job Description

Engineer, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Chennai

At NielsenIQ, we believe in turning ideas into action, collaborating as one team, and delivering results that matter. We are looking for an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer who shares these values — someone who brings strong technical expertise, curiosity, and a sense of ownership to building and operating scalable identity solutions.

In this role, you will design, implement, and support identity governance and administration capabilities using SailPoint IdentityNow and the Atlas platform. You will work closely with application owners, IAM operations, and security stakeholders to onboard applications, automate user lifecycle events, and ensure access is governed, auditable, and aligned with business needs. This role requires a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and improving identity processes at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer end-to-end onboarding and integration of applications into SailPoint IdentityNow using native connectors (e.g., Atlassian Cloud/Data Center, Active Directory/Entra ID, SaaS, JDBC, SCIM) and custom connectors when required
  • Build and maintain application intake and integration workflows to collect metadata, entitlement schemas, ownership details, and governance groups, ensuring consistent naming standards and review cycles
  • Configure connector patterns including authentication, endpoints, pagination, throttling, scheduling of aggregation and provisioning jobs, and robust error handling and retry logic
  • Create and manage identity sources (e.g., Workday HRIS, Active Directory/Entra ID, delimited files, JDBC) with accurate schemas, correlation keys, and attribute transforms for normalization
  • Configure identity profiles, lifecycle states, and delta aggregation to support joiner, mover, and leaver processes with timely and precise deprovisioning
  • Design and implement provisioning policies and automated fulfillment for accounts and entitlements across connected systems using SCIM, REST APIs, and connector-based provisioning
  • Build and support workflows for onboarding and offboarding triggers, including integrations with external services, rollback logic, and compensating actions
  • Publish and maintain access request items in the Request Center with dynamic approval routing, SLAs, and clean, well-governed access catalogs
  • Configure and execute access certification campaigns, including reviewer assignment, evidence capture, remediation workflows, and exception handling
  • Implement segregation of duties (SoD) and toxic-combination controls, maintaining audit-ready logging, reporting, and dashboards
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end IAM issues across sources, transforms, policies, workflows, and connectors, reducing manual effort and improving reliability
  • Monitor aggregation and provisioning queues, connector health, job runtimes, and rate limits; define alerts and contribute to operational dashboards
  • Contribute to platform standards and reusable patterns for sources, schemas, access profiles, workflows, and certification templates
  • Leverage SailPoint Atlas capabilities for orchestration, unified data modeling, lifecycle workflows, compliance, and identity insights

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Identity and Access Management or related security engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting identity governance and administration solutions in a global enterprise environment
  • Strong experience with SailPoint IdentityNow, including application onboarding, identity sources, provisioning, access requests, and certifications
  • Working knowledge of IAM integrations using SCIM, REST APIs, JDBC, and directory services such as Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across integrations, workflows, and provisioning pipelines
  • Ability to evaluate solutions based on scalability, maintainability, security, and alignment with enterprise architecture
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong command of spoken and written English to support collaboration across a global workforce
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SailPoint, IAM, Cloud, or Security certifications) are a plus
