The organisation is currently working on a significant expansion plan and is seeking a qualified Supply Chain Engineer to assist with sourcing and procurement tasks to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Develop and execute the overarching global supply chain strategy, aligning it with the company's business objectives, growth targets, and technical roadmap for space and satellite offerings.

·      Well versed in all aspects of the indigenous and global supply chain, including procurement, strategic sourcing, logistics, inventory control, and vendor management.

·      Lead initiatives to continuously improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance through methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.

·      Build and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and technical expertise. 

·      Familiarisation of Global supply chains, identification of new sources of supply and networking.

·      Lead the negotiation of complex contracts and long-term agreements with both domestic and international vendors, securing favourable terms and quality standards.

·      Prepare and present strategic and performance reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders, providing insight into supply chain metrics, risks, and strategic roadmaps.

·      Implement rigorous vendor performance management programs, conducting regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. 

·      Direct sourcing strategies for highly technical parts, and specialized materials, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality requirements.

·      Approve all new suppliers and conduct regular validation to ensure their technical capabilities, quality standards (like AS9100), and compliance with export regulations (e.g., ITAR) are met. 

·      Oversee and enforce strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and industry standards, including those specific to the space industry (ITAR, AS9100). Vendor compliance rates are a monitored KPI.

• Ensure all sourcing and purchasing activities comply with regulatory requirements such as AS9100 and government/PSU procurement practices, including relevant export control regulations. 
• Complete fami with SCOMET Compliance, INCOTERMS, CVC guidelines, IPR formalities, NDA / statutory regulations Pre Shipment Readiness, Coordiation with Customs etc
• NDA , IPR ,Vendor Management.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key global suppliers to ensure transparency, open communication, and alignment with company goals.

·      Logistics and distribution

·      Oversee the complex logistics network for moving mission-critical components, including specialized handling, customs, and Airport Authorities.

·      Develop and implement strategies to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers while minimizing transportation costs and network risks. 

·      Inventory and compliance management

·      Develop and execute inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels for high-value components, minimizing waste and ensuring materials are available when needed.

·      Proactively identify and manage supply chain risks, from supplier performance and geopolitical issues to regulatory changes, and develop contingency plans. 

Required skills and qualifications

·      10+ years in supply chain leadership within the space, aerospace, or a related high-reliability, high-tech manufacturing industry is often required.

·      A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is standard, with a Master's degree often preferred

·      Strong knowledge of international trade, customs procedures, and export/import regulations and Payments.

·      A strong understanding of engineering, manufacturing processes, and materials used in the space industry is highly valued.

·      Lead initiatives for process improvement, such as Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing, to enhance efficiency and agility.

·      Expertise with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), document management software, and proficiency in data analysis.

·       Extensive knowledge of government procurement practices and regulations is mandatory for managing government contracts.

·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex supply chain challenges under pressure

• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills are critical for working with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders.
