Role SummaryThe Associate Product Manager (APM) role is a high-impact entry point for future product leaders. You will be instrumental in executing the product strategy for one of our client core digital financial offerings (e.g., Lending, Payments, or Investment). This role requires a blend of analytical rigor, exceptional execution skills, and a strong customer-centric mindset to drive key metrics such as application conversion, feature adoption, and operational efficiency.You will act as the vital link between our customers, business stakeholders, and the Engineering/Design teams, ensuring that every product release is perfectly aligned with our goal of simplifying finance for millions of users.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Product Execution & Delivery
- Feature Ownership: Support a Product Manager in defining, prioritizing, and executing features for your designated product area. This may involve optimizing a lending funnel stage, launching an improvement to the credit tracker, or deploying a new user communication flow.
- Documentation: Write clear, concise, and detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and user stories with acceptance criteria for the engineering team.
- Agile Management: Manage the product backlog, participate actively in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, and ensure timely delivery of features with high quality.
- Data Analysis & User Discovery
- Quantitative Analysis: Monitor core product KPIs (e.g., funnel drop-offs, install-to-disbursal success rate, daily active users) using analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Google Analytics/internal tools). Translate data into actionable insights for product iteration.
- Qualitative Research: Conduct user interviews, analyze customer feedback, and perform A/B tests to understand pain points and validate solutions.
- Competitive Intelligence: Track the competitive landscape, industry trends, and new regulatory changes in the FinTech space to identify product gaps and opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordination: Serve as the product evangelist and point of contact for Engineering, UI/UX Design, Risk/Credit, Operations, and Marketing teams.
- Risk & Compliance: Work closely with Risk and Legal teams to ensure all product features, particularly related to loan processes, KYC/AML, and customer data, are compliant with RBI guidelines and internal security standards.
- Go-to-Market: Assist in preparing launch materials, training internal teams (Sales/Support), and communicating new feature releases to stakeholders.
What You'll Bring (Required Qualifications)
- Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in a quantitative, analytical, or product-related role (e.g., Business Analyst, Associate PM, Product Analyst, or an Engineering background with an interest in Product).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative field from a reputed institution.
- Analytical Prowess: Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Excel. Must be comfortable defining metrics and interpreting data to make product decisions.
- Technical Fluency: A solid understanding of how digital products (mobile apps/APIs) are built and scaled. Ability to effectively communicate technical requirements to engineers.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to break down complex problems in a structured manner.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate the product vision, requirements, and performance clearly to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Bonus Points (Preferred Skills)
- Prior experience in a FinTech, Lending, or Payments domain.
- Direct experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira/Confluence.
- Familiarity with UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma) to quickly mock up user flows or analyze wireframes.
- Exposure to underwriting models or credit/risk systems.
