This role is based on-site in Kharagpur and reports directly to the Project Head. Key Responsibilities (KRA) Strategic Planning and Implementation Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project goals. Prepare procurement plans detailing required resources, timelines, and stakeholder coordination. Stakeholder Coordination Work closely with internal teams such as Finance, Audit, Projects, and Operations. Coordinate with vendors to ensure smooth procurement and timely communication. Contract Management Conduct negotiations and draft purchase orders (POs) or contracts. Monitor contract execution and ensure compliance with agreed terms. Risk Management Identify and mitigate procurement risks through proactive planning. Conduct market research to track trends and seek cost-saving opportunities. Performance Evaluation Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and ensure quality and delivery standards. Maintain records of procurement achievements and cost savings. Continuous Improvement Develop best practices to streamline procurement processes. Provide training and encourage a culture of improvement within the team. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost Savings: Achieve 10% average negotiated savings. Downtime Reduction: Reduce unplanned downtime by 90% through effective material planning. Safety Compliance: Ensure 100% PPE availability to maintain zero safety incidents. Budget Management: Maintain procurement within <5% variance of the project budget. Vendor Efficiency: Achieve 90% on-time delivery and zero stock-outs for critical materials. Project Execution: Ensure 90% of projects are completed on time and within budget. Process Improvement: Implement a minimum of 3 procurement process improvements per year. Documentation Accuracy: Maintain 100% accuracy in records, submitted within 24 hours when required. Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Working knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management. Experience in vendor management and purchasing decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software. Familiarity with SAP ERP (PP/MM modules) is a plus. Experience in manufacturing, projects, operations, and maintenance environments is preferred. Why Join Us?
