Variable Sales Compensation Analyst
What We Need
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Senior Analyst, Sales Compensation to support our sales and partner organizations by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant compensation and revenue share payouts. This role is critical in maintaining data integrity, improving compensation processes, and supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring deep analytical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex compensation workflows for both direct sales and partner teams.
Role Responsibilities
Compensation & Partner Revenue Share Administration
Calculate and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales Commissions, Partner Commissions, Partner Revenue Share, and Bonus payouts using Excel and Power BI.
Analyse sales and partner performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for plan optimization.
Conduct compensation plan audits, reconciliations, and compliance checks to ensure accuracy and adherence to approved agreements.
Manage distribution, tracking, and reporting of compensation and revenue share plan letters/agreements to ensure timely acceptance and compliance.
Perform data integrity audits across systems (SFDC, CAMTRADE, Power BI) to validate sales and partner transactions.
Develop, update, and maintain process documentation for all sales compensation and partner revenue share workflows.
Coordinate with Sales, Partnerships, HR, and Payroll on new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and partner onboarding/offboarding.
Support internal and external audit requirements, including SOX compliance activities.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Gather, analyse, and interpret large datasets from CRM, Power BI, and additional data sources.
Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc reports on sales performance, compensation payouts, partner revenue share, and key business KPIs.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to support leadership visibility and decision-making across sales and partner channels.
Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify trends, risks, anomalies, and opportunities.
Leverage advanced Excel techniques (pivot tables, macros, Power Query) and familiarity with SQL for automation and analytical efficiency.
Maintain clear documentation for all reporting, reconciliation, and analysis processes.
Sales & Partner Team Support
Provide timely, accurate responses to sales team and partner inquiries regarding compensation plans, payouts, and process clarifications.
Conduct training sessions for sales teams and partners on compensation models and revenue share plan details.
Build and nurture strong working relationships with Sales leaders, Partner managers, Analysts, and cross-functional teams.
Project Management & Process Improvement
Participate in cross-functional projects involving compensation systems, process enhancements, and integration for new acquisitions.
Manage multiple compensation-related projects simultaneously while ensuring timely deliverables.
Lead process automation and workflow improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field.
3–6 years of experience in sales compensation, revenue operations, financial analysis, or related analytical roles.
Strong analytical mindset with experience managing large datasets and performing complex calculations.
Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, macros), Power BI, and familiarity with SQL.
Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and other sales operations tools.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to interpret compensation plans and ensure accurate payout execution.
Strong understanding of audit requirements, compliance, and data integrity best practices.
