Role Overview:

Prozo is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Manager of Procurement to oversee and lead our purchasing operations across India. This critical role involves managing all aspects of purchasing for administrative and corporate expenditures, including the procurement of packaging, housekeeping, and consumables on a pan-India basis for the corporate office and warehouses. The successful candidate will develop procurement strategies, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This role requires extensive interaction with senior stakeholders, fostering trust and facilitating seamless purchasing operations across the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Purchasing Leadership:

    Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with Prozo’s overall business objectives and operational needs.
  • Vendor Management:

    Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Cost Optimization:

    Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and efficiency of purchased goods and services.
  • Procurement Scope:

    Oversee the procurement of packaging, housekeeping, and consumables across all locations in India.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:

    Ensure all purchasing activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, mitigating risks associated with procurement processes.
  • Team Leadership:

    Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Market Analysis:

    Conduct regular market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities, enabling informed purchasing decisions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and logistics, to align purchasing activities with overall business goals.
  • Process Improvement:

    Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Analysis:

    Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, expenditures, and performance metrics to senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s or higher degree in business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    At least 7 years of experience in procurement, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role overseeing corporate and administrative spending.
  • Knowledge:

    Deep understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Leadership:

    Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders across different functions.
  • Skills:

    Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities, with a strong focus on problem-solving and strategic thinking.
  • Background:

    Candidates with experience in Third-Party Logistics (3PL) and supply chain management will be preferred.
