Senior Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement & Supplier Management:

  Strategically source and manage suppliers for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumables, marketing materials, and general administration purchases, ensuring availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Lead vendor negotiations and contract management enforcing strict compliance with internal and regulatory policies and processes, ethical standards and budget. Proactively mitigate supply chain risks.

• Warehousing & Inventory:

  Oversee warehouse operations with a focus on safety, speed, efficiency, and compliance with SOPs and regulations. Ensure inventory control systems to maintain real-time visibility, accuracy, and traceability. Ensure storage conditions meet regulatory and product-specific requirements, particularly for temperature-sensitive and time-expiry items.

• Logistics & Distribution:

  Optimise logistics across India to support sales and services, overseeing inbound/outbound shipments to ensure product integrity is maintained and delivery to sales and service channels is rapid, safe and cost-effective.

• Quality Control & Compliance:

  Enforce a rigorous Quality Management System that ensures all products and processes meet internal and national regulatory standards. Oversee independent quality verification, lead audits and manage CAPA. Stay current with regulatory changes and proactively adjust operational practices.

• Forecasting:

  Lead cross-functional teams to optimise product availability. Align stakeholders (marketing, sales, procurement, finance) on stock strategies to reduce stockouts and excess inventory, and lead the procurement team in executing those plans

• Process Improvement & Data:

  Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies across the supply chain and implement process enhancements. Champion continuous improvement across all operations. Implement strong data management and reporting for actionable insights, driving efficiency and informed decision-making.

• Marketing Team Oversight:

  Provide operational support to a small marketing team providing direction on planning, workload management, process improvement, and prioritising support to other departments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with the Sales, Services, HR & Administration, Finance, and IT departments to ensure seamless operational integration and achieve strategic organizational goals.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field. (MBA or similar masters degree preferred).
• 12 years operations experience, with 5 years in senior leadership across procurement, warehousing, and logistics, in the Indian pharmaceutical/medical device/healthcare sector
• A strong understanding of healthcare regulations
• Demonstrable track record of leading cost reduction, compliance excellence, and operational efficiency processes
• Proficiency with an ERP and experience in leading quality management systems
• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• The ability to both lead and be hands-on working alongside a team
• Experience overseeing marketing functions is a plus.
