The Opportunity: Senior Manager - Human Resources

We are seeking a Senior Manager - Human Resources who can blend strategic perspective with hands-on execution to strengthen RightWalk’s people function.

The role covers the full spectrum of HR, from performance management and learning to culture building and employee engagement. We expect candidates to have managed recruitment cycles themselves at some stage in their career, as this role involves not only leading the HR function but also stepping in to execute hiring directly when needed. You will not only help bring exceptional people into the organization but also ensure they thrive through meaningful development, alignment with our values, and a strong sense of purpose.

As a senior HR leader, you will work closely with the Founders, senior management, and teams across multiple states, from grassroots field staff to senior leaders ensuring that our systems and culture support everyone equally. This is an opportunity for an HR professional who is passionate about social impact, motivated to strengthen organizational culture, and willing to both design strategy and roll up their sleeves to deliver it.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment across levels and functions, ensuring a strong pipeline of mission-aligned talent.
  • Partner with leadership to anticipate future talent needs and co-create proactive workforce strategies.
  • Ensure hiring practices reflect RightWalk’s values and maintain high standards of candidate experience.
  • Track recruitment metrics and share regular dashboards with leadership for visibility and accountability.

2.Performance Management & OKRs

  • Design, implement, and oversee the organization’s performance management system.
  • Drive the annual OKR and appraisal cycle — ensuring timelines, fairness, and alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Coach Managers on effective goal setting, feedback conversations, and performance reviews.
  • Use performance data and insights to support talent development and organizational decisions.

3. Learning & Organisation Development

  • Drive organizational growth and transformation by designing and executing learning and OD initiatives aligned with RightWalk’s mission, values, and strategy.
  • Champion employee learning by leveraging the LMS, ensuring adoption and embedding continuous learning in day-to-day work.
  • Partner with managers to identify capability gaps and design targeted interventions for frontline teams, emerging leaders, and future successors.
  • Develop and deliver training, coaching, and change management programs that strengthen skills and reinforce organizational culture.
  • Use feedback and data insights to assess effectiveness of initiatives and refine them for greater impact.

4. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Serve as a key people partner to the Founders and senior leadership team, providing input on organizational strategy from an HR perspective.
  • Provide data-backed insights to influence workforce decisions and organizational planning.
  • Anticipate HR risks and proactively design solutions to mitigate them.
  • Represent HR in cross-functional forums, ensuring people considerations are integrated into all major initiatives.

5. HR Operations, Systems & Compliance

  • Oversee HR operations including onboarding, confirmations, separations, payroll inputs, attendance, and leave management.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements, and internal HR policies.
  • Strengthen HR systems and processes to make them scalable, efficient, and data-driven.
  • Leverage HRMS to improve reporting, analytics, and decision-making for leadership.

Who Will Thrive in This Role? -

  • Bring 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong recruitment expertise and exposure across the HR lifecycle.
  • Have worked in or with the development sector and are motivated by the idea of enabling social justice through organizational excellence.
  • Are equally comfortable partnering with the Founders as you are engaging with field staff across multiple states.
  • Are a builder at heart, happy to be hands-on while also shaping strategy and systems for scale.
  • Can balance structure with empathy, driving both performance and care for people.
  • Communicate with clarity, listen deeply, and adapt to the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Carry a genuine passion for making a difference where it is needed most and are motivated by the idea of enabling social justice through organizational excellence.
  • Prior experience in or exposure to the development sector will be an added advantage, though not mandatory.
  • Educational Qualification: Post-graduate degree (preferably in Human Resource Management or related field).
