Job Description

Job Summary : The Project Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing project planning, cost control, scheduling, and progress monitoring for large-scale vessel manufacturing and construction projects in the oil & gas sector. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) environment, with specific expertise in pressure vessels, storage tanks, and modular fabrication projects. Responsibilities : Develop, implement, and maintain project control systems including planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and cost control. 2. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to track progress and ensure project milestones are met. 3. Lead the preparation and update of project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project. 4. Monitor project budgets, forecast costs, and report variances and risks. 5. Prepare and present detailed progress and performance reports to senior management and stakeholders. 6. Identify and analyze deviations from the baseline plan, and recommend corrective actions. 7. Support the development of project execution plans (PEPs) and work breakdown structures (WBS). 8. Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and internal controls. 9. Collaborate with procurement to track material delivery schedules and supplier performance. 10. Manage change control processes including the assessment of time and cost impact of scope changes. 11. Support risk management processes by identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies. 12. Supervise and mentor junior planning and cost engineers within the project controls team. 13. Review & understanding of contract. 14. Managing and leading the project to ensure the project execution within set boundaries of scope, time, cost & quality. 15. Internal kick off meetings with cross functional teams & external kick off meetings with Client, consultants to set the project baseline, managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in project work. 16. Detailed project planning, monitoring and control with respect to Detail Design & Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning of the project including: 17. Identify/forecasting the critical path activity, schedule risks & preparation of action plan, look ahead plan, catch up plans & responsibility allocation for mitigation on a weekly basis. 18. Recording and managing cross-functional issues & all project issues by risk analysis and escalating where necessary. 19. Preparation of project plan using WBS technique & Monitoring project progress and performance as per baseline plan. 20. Management of cost and cash outflow as per defined job budget. 21. Negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors as per set budgets/strategies. 22. Providing status reports to the project sponsor/management & client for decision making. 23. Interface/collaboration with functional managers, all internal disciplines, subcontractors and client/consultants regarding planning coordination and integration. Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. · Minimum of 10 years of experience in project control roles within the oil & gas industry, especially in vessel manufacturing and construction projects. · Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, and erection processes specific to pressure vessels and modular units. · Proficiency in project control software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). · In-depth knowledge of cost control techniques, earned value management (EVM), and schedule analysis. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. · Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
