Anakin is a high-growth startup enabling companies in e-commerce, ride-hailing, food delivery, and quick commerce to stay competitive with real-time data-driven solutions. We specialize in dynamic pricing, competitor intelligence, and optimized product offerings powered by advanced technology, AI, and analytics.

Currently, our business focuses on scraping a large number of websites and apps to provide pricing data to major clients. Over time, we have developed strong internal web scraping modules that make data extraction efficient, reliable, and scalable.

Role Overview

We are now evolving to offer these internal web scraping modules as standalone developer tools to external users, creating an entirely new customer segment — developers who directly use our scraping APIs and tools. This shift is why we are hiring a Product Manager dedicated to this area.

The Product Manager will lead the end-to-end development of these developer-centric scraping products, from initial conception to customer pilots and scaling. This is a greenfield role requiring deep technical expertise, strong ownership, and active collaboration across engineering and cross-functional teams.

Why Technical Coding Skills Are Essential

• Because developers are the end users, the PM must be technically comfortable with coding for these critical reasons:
• Understanding Developer-Level Bug Reports: Developers provide detailed, technical feedback. Without the ability to understand the issue at their level, important information can get lost, delaying problem resolution.
• Evaluating Fixes and Edge Cases: The PM must verify bug fixes by reproducing issues, testing edge cases, and ensuring fixes support typical developer workflows.
• Building with User Empathy: To design the right product features for highly technical users, the PM needs to think like a developer, anticipate edge cases, and understand pain points.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the ideation, design, and delivery of web scraping APIs and developer tools, ensuring robust, scalable, and compliant data solutions.
• Collaborate hands-on with engineers worldwide, experimenting with the product, suggesting improvements, and coordinating product launches.
• Own the roadmap and tackle technical challenges, including alignment with large language models (LLMs) for web scraping workflow automation.
• Conduct customer discovery, demos, pilots, and manage all customer-facing activities until the product scales sufficiently.
• Define product requirements (PRDs), success metrics including API design, developer adoption, SLA compliance, and drive go-to-market activities alongside Sales and Customer Experience teams.
• Build and enforce frameworks for ethical data sourcing, regulatory compliance, security, and risk management in collaboration with internal and external experts.
• Instrument metrics for coverage, accuracy, freshness, API performance, and use SQL and analytics as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years as a Product Manager or Owner in B2B technology or data-driven products.
• Hands-on coding skills in Python, Go, JavaScript, or Java with familiarity in Git, APIs, and SQL for prototyping, debugging, and product analysis.
• Experience building APIs, data pipelines (ETL/ELT), and productizing ML workflows with human-in-the-loop quality processes.
• Strong understanding of web scraping, anti-bot techniques, catalog matching, entity resolution, or search relevance practices is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead new product development from inception to pilot and scale while communicating effectively with engineers and business stakeholders.
• Metrics-driven mindset focused on key KPIs such as coverage, latency, adoption, retention, and quality SLAs.
• Experience in on-demand commerce sectors, including e-commerce, ride-hailing, quick commerce, or digital brands, is preferred.
