Job Description

Role Overview

This role owns the warehouse, logistics, and inventory function end-to-end, ensuring 100% accuracy, operational compliance, and timely fulfillment across ecommerce, marketplaces, and B2B channels. You’ll lead the warehouse team, streamline processes, improve turnaround times, minimize leakages, and deliver operational excellence across all physical movement of inventory.

This is a high-ownership role, not just dispatching stock, but ensuring product availability, operational responsiveness, and speed that translates directly to revenue.


🔧 Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations & Process Ownership

  • Oversee the entire operational cycle including GRN, inward QC, putaway, sorting, picking, packing, dispatch, and daily physical flow of goods.


  • Ensure 100% adherence to established SOPs including FIFO, SKU-level separation, stock hygiene standards, and packaging norms.


  • Maintain strict compliance with GRN timelines, inward checks, repacking and reconciliation schedules with

    zero tolerance for procedural lapses

    .


  • Reduce pilferage, leakages, discrepancies, return mishandling and operational inefficiencies through continuous audit and process improvement.


  • Ensure

    B2B fulfillment within the committed delivery slot

    and delivery readiness for marketplace and D2C orders at all times.


2. Inventory Management & Accuracy

  • Own real-time inventory accuracy across Warehouse, Shopify, marketplaces, and Unicommerce - achieving

    zero discrepancy across systems and physical stock

    .


  • Track DOH, ageing buckets, overstock/understock risks, slow/fast movers and drive timely replenishments with Merchandising.


  • Execute weekly cycle counts and quarterly physical audits with 100% reporting accuracy.


3. Logistics & Dispatch Excellence

  • Manage courier, shipping, freight and last-mile partners with strong SLA discipline and regular performance reviews.


  • Improve logistics turnaround times, reduce RTOs, and close operational breakdowns (transit delays, misroutes, damages) quickly and decisively.


  • Monitor packaging, warehouse handling and freight expenses and ensure

    cost per shipment remains within budget.


  • Minimize return losses, preventing marketplace penalties and revenue impact.


4. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure inventory availability, allocation, and timely replenishment.


  • Ensure seamless functioning of system integrations including Unicommerce, Shiprocket, marketplaces, and internal tools — escalating tech/system issues before they impact orders.


  • Maintain

    100% SLA compliance across marketplaces (Amazon, Myntra, Ajio, Tata CLiQ, Nykaa)

    and proactively ensure

    zero penalty incidence

    .


5. Team Management & Performance Delivery

  • Lead warehouse teams including executives, supervisors, pickers/packers, and logistics staff — ensuring daily productivity and accountability.


  • Conduct

    weekly performance reviews

    , track individual and team KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.


  • Foster a culture of high ownership, operational discipline, and speed.


6. Reporting, Visibility & Insights

  • Own daily, weekly, and monthly reporting


  • Publish a consolidated

    weekly business dashboard for founders/senior management

    , highlighting performance, exceptions, actions, and improvements.


  • Provide timely financial inputs on warehousing cost, logistics expenses, manpower efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.


7. Cost & Efficiency Optimization

  • Deliver

    logistics and warehouse cost savings quarterly

    through partner negotiation, process optimization, and continuous improvement.


  • Track and manage inventory ageing


8. Communication & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Ensure prompt communication across internal coordination groups and business stakeholders.


  • Notify relevant teams immediately after GRN and readiness so that internal planners, marketplaces, and launch teams have real-time visibility.


🧠 Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

  • Experience in apparel or fashion warehousing/D2C operations with large SKU environments.


  • Exceptional understanding of warehouse flow, merchandising linkages, and ecommerce/marketplace dynamics.


  • Strong command of Excel/Sheets (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, automation).


  • Working experience with Unicommerce, Shopify, Shiprocket, Zoho, Tally or similar tools.


  • Strong ability to follow up, drive accountability, and operate with a process-first mindset.


  • Experience running warehouse teams with metrics and measurable performance targets.


  • Comfortable in fast-growth environments with frequent launches and rapid movement.
